GDT: Los Angeles Kings at Washington Capitals - February 3, 2015 - 4:00 p.m. (PST)

Lol, you people really are a hoot.

The Kings look like **** right now but all of you writing this team off had better be willing to line up front and center and eat your crow come April and May.

It's time to move on from Stoll, Williams and Regehr. Mike Richards was the first move, thank God. It's time for a mini-rebuild, seriously. Down 3-0 in the playoffs last year vs San Jose, I was saying the exact same thing. It was a miraculous Stanley Cup run, but now their deficiencies are catching up to them. This is not a top NHL roster. Kopitar, Doughty, Quick and Carter are the only top guys on this team. Gaborik has been horrendous, who was once looked at as a steal.
 
hey not a fan of the Kings and not here to bash. Just been watching the game as I took the kings to Win on a small wager. Can someone please explain to me what happened to this team and why are they so terrible? Even Doughty looks awful out there. Besides Richards and Voynov is this not same team that won it all last year?
 
The thing is, it's not like the Kings don't have the skill and mental toughness to take control of this season. They do.
 
Also, how horrendous was that PP? It looked like Jamie Kompon was still our PP coach, my God. Absolutely nothing happening. Doughty is playing way too many minutes, his efficiency has gone downhill.

Its the team from last year playing on one leg
 
Williams is a pure rental, on the wrong side of 30+. I don't think he will net what you folks are hoping for.

Also Williams will be the best player in any trade that goes down.

We are definitely at a turning point. It is clear to me that Stoll has to go, but unfortunately I think he still leads the team in face-off percentage.

Right now the biggest effort I see, in terms of caring, are Clifford, Regehr, and Quick. Doughty and Martinez' heads are not in the game. Gaborik is thinking of the beach. Kopitar seems to have more energy but still isn't getting it done.

Muzzin? No comment.
 
**** it. Shut it down for the year. The Kings don't care, then I don't care. Rest up for next year and come back reloaded. I will only accept a Lightning, Predators, or Islanders SC champion.
 
Trade Williams to a contender at the deadline and let Stoll walk in the summer. At this point I want prospects and picks. We are not one Carter or Gaborik away of making a deep run.

Willie Mitchell isn't there. Huge hole. Top notch PK guy and an absolute stud. Father time for Williams, Stoll, Regehr are catching up to them. These guys have played in June for 3 straight years, not a young group. It's catching up to them.

Also, people outside of the Kings organization don't realize how big Voynov was to this team. Top 4 Dman, 2nd unit PK and took a lot of the load off Doughty's shoulders. Martinez is trying to fill those shoes but it's not happening.

Just now coming to that conclusion? It's been pretty apparent most of this season that this team is in deep chit. Star players have completely disappeared, When ones like Nolan and King are the ones scoring, constant inconsistency and lack of toughness by defense is just making the games for the rest of this season, just killing time.:shakehead

I'll be there, this roster has 13 wins in their last 40 games. The Kings have never put in a stretch that bad in the last four years.

You have to go back to the year the Kings drafted Doughty to find a stretch of hockey that bad.

Yeah, I'm not writing the team off and I may be the most optimistic fan on this board but even I can see the lack of effort tonight. It's very discouraging.

Wow, Ron being negative? The Kings must REALLY be struggling then.
 
Cannon food...put entire Monarchs' first line up, give them 15 mins, see what happens, can't be much worse, at least they d be hungry for success. Would be an interesting experiment.

Repeating it doesn't make it true.

The Kings have 54 points so far this season. That's a better barometer on how the team is playing.

I will gladly eat crow, but this lackluster play has been going on for the better part of the season. There is 32 games left after this one and time is quickly running out. They can only pull so many miracles out of their butts.
