People talk today about the Islanders the way they talked about the Kings five years ago.

"You guys are gonna be really good in a few years"

"Your team is really stacked"

"If my team can't win it all I hope yours does"

"You guys have been suffering a long time, I hope you win it all now"

"You're my second favorite team"

Now for the Kings, three years, two Cups, and a WC Finals appearance:

"The league wants you to win"

"I can't believe how dirty you are"

"Man, the refs let you get away with everything"

"Any other team's player would get suspended for that"

"You're my most hated team"

Human nature is hilarious. Screw that lovable loser stuff - I say "**** the Islanders" now, why wait? I say embrace the hate - if people hate you, you must be winning. And the Kings winning (Cups) is really, really fun as a fan.

Go Kings!!!!!!

It's OK, I still love you.

:yo:

We hated the Islanders before it was cool

Of course, just trying to beat the groupthink to the punch.

NYI is only good because they tanked, lucky NYI, etc.

Isles definitely picked the best year to have the number one pick in recent memory. I would not trade Tavares for any of the hundreds of Edmonton 1st overall picks.

:naughty:

Tavares is an animal, love that guy. I agree. I do think some of them would be better in a better environment but Tavares had the character and drive to improve those around him as well.

haha in 2012 I had a lot of people congratulating me (pissed my wife off as we just got engaged at the time and frieds were congratulating us on winnign the cup not getting engaged) , in 2014 I had people say "your ****ign kings won again!" and tell me they were routing against the kings.
everyone cheers for the underdog.

Since they're playing the Isles, would be fitting for Bob Miller to confuse Dwight King for Derek King, like he did in a game earlier this season.

If only Dwight had Derek's mullet mane:

Dwight king with a blonde mullet and black stubble would be funny. Hollywood Hogan style

Lubo a helathy scratch?
Last game for the kings in long island before the team moves to brooklyn.
I wonder how many time Goring gets mentioned tonight.

He's not a healthy scratch, he's day to day and may very well play tonight.

Just realized this is the last regular season game against long Island that they still have Yashin on the books.

This of course has no bearing on this game, but I feel like I am running out of time to point it out.

I would say the Kings have a shot with Halak in net. When it's an important game, the Kings have done well against him.
