GDT: Los Angeles Kings at Calgary Flames - December 29, 2014 - 6:00 p.m. (PST)

Ah yes, the fun of being a Kings fan since the days of Joyal,Flett,Rogie, etc. right on down to present day, games are such an adventure; never knowing which Kings team will show up. Kind of like going on a blind date.

Yay, more adversity!

3 days in 4 nights on the road and 5 in 7 and we already have injuries/suspensions. Sickness is just what we needed.

As long as it's like a stomach bug or bad cold. Something minor and it doesn't spread thru the team.

Three more players (2 pens/1 devil) have the mumps.

I'm confident we'll win this one.

The Kings's best chance to embarrass themselves will be tomorrow against the Oilers, who have lost 9 straight. #SlumpBusters

Yeah I imagine it's nothing serious, but I'm less worried about tonight and more worried about what they look like on night 4. Those things tend to drain you and with games and travel even a stomach bug/cold can wreck this road trip.

Looks like Schultz could be in

What the hell!

Also Rosen posted a nice piece on Lewis, who I was just short of starting an appreciation thread for :P I'll reserve it for a while, but his versatility and effort is flying under the radar. But he's been a bright spot for us this year.

Pick a card -

Card 1: Kings score 3 in the first period and then give up 3 in the third; losing in the shootout. Quick breaks his stick. A wild main board thread appears.

Card 2: Kings don't even show up and are still in vacation mode. Richards thread gets a five page bump.

Card 3: Kings play a solid game. It's tied 0-0 going into the third and they ultimately lose 1-0, going 0-5 on the power play. Doughty plays Sherlock Holmes when looking for the big guys.

I pick card 4, where the Kings win 4-2, but at some point in the game Quick loses his mask while the Flames are putting pressure on, while on the power play, and an 85 page "Quick is a cheater" thread is reborn on the main board.

Ugh so many good options. Don't know which one to pick.

All i know is that the kings are going to score for the other team.

Hope they get a W tonight because the Oilers have begun their rebuild and will have a new threat at center tomorrow

Nice pickup for the Preds...who hopefully will slay the Hawks tonight.

I bet Roy is celebrating tonight knowing he's going to that black hole.

And leaving a team who may be in the race for the WCF...one extreme to another. He probably thought when he cleared waivers over the weekend, he'd have a shot at getting back.
Not sure what the Oilers were thinking ...don't see him adding much.

Oilers and thinking should never be used in the same sentence. Especially when it implies a cognitive thought.;)

Yeah, that's it, I will put a grasp on my old Eddie Joyal Number 16 jersey for tonight's game :D
