Dean likes to go after the injured players on Lumbus so I'm guessing we pick up Nathan Horton at 95% retained salary at the deadline. :yo:
 
Afternoon game, five-game win-streak... I'm hoping I'm wrong in sensing a letdown game. I won't be mad if I'm right, just slightly disappointed. Long season, lot of games to go.

And hey, if I'm wrong, then so much the better :)
 
I hoping Lumbus has a letdown after the comeback win vs SJ. If the Kings can get through the first 5 minutes, they'll be ok. Anyway, it's a 1 pm game instead of a noon start, the extra hour might help.

Also, when you’re home for an extended period of time, our building has a problem with giving the home team shots and the other team more shots. It’s a fact. We had a game three or four games ago where Kopitar had two quality scoring chances on one shift but he didn’t have a shot on goal in the game. There are lots of people, quite honest, that sit in the press box that don’t have anything to do. Somebody should actually do that stat, because it’s amazing when you do it yourself what the discrepancy is

I brought this up in the GDT. Kopi was on the ice and had 2 shots back to back and was not credited with a single shot. I'm not sure who keeps shot totals but they aren't doing a very good job. If an opponent shoots from the point and it gets blocked before it gets to the net, it's not a SOG. I saw this a bunch of times over the last 4 games, especially on the power plays.
 
Been lurking off and on HF boards for a few years. Finally decided to join and post. Here us to hoping for a good game and another 2 points.

I wonder what kind of tools these shot counter's use is it a big screen where they can see the action from multiple angles or is it the same we are watching or finally they are watching live no monitors at all, the last one doesn't seem likely. How easy is their job and what equipment to they have in hand?

Just in case, to be politically correct this is not a complaint of any posts written..

I tried to google it and came up with ..nothing.

Boy Horton has had a bad luck run with injuries the last few years. Per an article earlier this w eek out of Columbus he has been diagnosed with' degeneration of the entire lumbar region of his spine." And based on that diagnosis, surgery may help but there is a chance he might never play again. That's a shame.
 
Now Cam Atkinson is out! :-(

Duby, Jenner, Atkinson, Horton, Murray all hurt.... This one is going to be ugly.

I remember this too. Kopi was laying on the ice and batted the puck into the goaltender's pads twice and it wasn't counted. That being said, the opposition so far is getting a lot of shots through from the perimeter and our guys are either shooting it right into the defender or missing the net altogether. It will normalize over time. Our guys haven't forgotten how to play Kings hockey in the offseason.
