Rumor: Los Angeles is interested in Prohorkin

From CSKA point of view there is no obstacle. But for sure it should be offered something that CSKA would consider to release Prohorin from contract. I don't think it would go up to 5 mio USD, more probably around 1 or 2 mio USD. Or maybe less and some assurance that if Prohorin won't crack Kings first team, he'll be able to join CSKA for another year. There are many other posibilities...

I don't think the Kings would pay $1-2MM for him to get a "shot" at making the big club, only to go back to CSKA if he doesn't.

To me, this is a "Get this kid in our system ASAP" move and is more about spending one season in Manchester.

I've been very excited about him since the draft since everything I read made him sound like my kind of player. The video footage from this past season is pretty tantalizing so I hope they are able to get him over for next season and get him indoctrinated into the Kings system.

I just wanted to say that there are different ways to reach agreement, not that this the agreement they are working on...

I'm not sure how far along Zykov is, but it'd be exciting to have a Kitsyn/Prokhorkin/Zykov line in Manchester next season!!!

I don't think Pearson goes back to Manch after this playoffs. Tanner's been better his year than toff was last year.

No way Tanner ever goes to Manch again, unless he has some stuff there to
get. He's one of the top 6 or 7 players on the Kings already.

Going off of what happened when he signed with the Kings and came over before the lockout the Kings can't buy out his contract as CSKA refused it last time that was tried. CSKA told Porkins he could buy out his contract but it had to be his own money or something like that, so it seems he's stuck in Russia for another year. Unless something has changed. But I don't see that as likely since CSKA would be losing one of their best players for cash.

np, LA has no one skating wearing 74 currently so he can get his number

people said the same thing last summer after TTT's playoff performance. there is no sure thing in the salary cap days.

personally i see no reason for pearson being demoted, but these days you can never say never

LOL!!! Duh-Wight King actually should wear a half King / half opponent jersey each game. Cuz he plays equally for both teams. He has not made 1 single 'above average' play the entire playoffs. He has not really made any bad plays...but has not made any good plays either. The best play all playoffs, was moving away from that slapshot that scored, so it didn't hit him. Seriously.

Alright.... DL likes Russians because you get a good deal on them when you risk bringing them over from the KHL. DL needs to just take the next step. Offer Putin a statue next to Gretzky out front of Staples center, a life time box at Staples center for hockey games, and throw in some fishing/hunting trips with the guys.. Mitchell, was he the one that liked fishing. Think that would be enough to get some preferential treatment for picking up some KHL guys?

Thought Vey had to make it through waivers next year to go back to the AHL. I could be wrong. If that's the case its make the team or bust. Don't think he'll make it through waivers.
