Longest break between playoff rounds in NHL History?

I was actually asking myself that after the game 4 win. Habs must have tied the record for quickest series win (in terms of days).

Unless there were years where the NHL scheduled back-to-back in the playoffs (I don't remember this) Habs have definitely tied the record.

Only thing I can see though is if some teams won game 4 in an afternoon game (Habs were playing at night).

Habs' series lasted only 7 days.

Since we are making history, we are definitely end up with something at the end of playoffs just like in 93'.:sarcasm:

It's a long time between games. I think over the course of the playoffs this helps us. Time to work on systems. Time to work out. Time to heal. Basically a mini training camp.

How it happens is a bit frustrating. The NBA are the biggest villains. When they negotiate with a building part of that contract is that their games take precedence. If the B's and Celtics are both in the playoffs then B's get sloppy seconds. Those extra days hurt over the course of playoffs. NBA is likely to crown their champ before NHL even though they start later. While this isn't an issue in Boston, it certainly is in NY.

I read somewhere that the rink in boston is booked for a graduation of some sort thursday and thats why yet another delay may happen.... BS. I guess it was some sort of fluke that the Bruins made the playoffs. Their OPS people need to be more assertive and the NHL needs to be more proactive when scheduling. The NBA has defined dates for all series starts and even forecasts for possible early starts.

I guess you are young (or am I old ?).

There was an old format like this:
Day 1: Game 1
Day 2: Game 2
Day 3: rest/change of city
Day 4: Game 3
Day 5: Game 4
Day 6: rest/change of city
Day 7: Game 5
Day 8: rest/change of city
Day 9: Game 6
Day 10: rest/change of city
Day 11: Game 7

Just my opinion...should have been more back to back games...
(and yes this includes the Tampa vs our Habs' series!).

Can't wait for the series to start!!!! too much waiting!!haha!!
(really hoping it's Thurs and then Sat!! or maybe they will do back to back? ex: Wedns...Fri and Sat? in order to avoid a Sun game?).

Go Habs Go!
Go health Go!

Come on now, are we going to spin a Habs wheel of excuses? "Too long between games"?

Don't worry. He won't get the chance to use any lame excuses.

How would that even work anyways, is he supposed to go:

"Boohoo, Habs managed to win in 4, but we didn't get to totally outplay the Bruins in *every* game because we had too big a layoff?"

I'm sure Bruins will be plenty of excuses after being swept tho. We'll see. My prediction is the game 4 of the series will be around thursday/friday of the following week, so we can meet back here to talk about it then as we anticipate who the Habs face in round 3 :)
