I mean, they'll take a clean entry if they can get it, but they will take zero risks to enter the puck. Turning it over at the blue line is basically the biggest sin you can commit here. I think we might be the team with the fewest clean entries in the league.

As they are constructed, I get why the Islanders might not be good on the power-play. But pretty perplexing to see a defensive team like this be so bad on the penalty kill. Not that I am complaining.

Because they rely heavily on interference and physically knocking around their opponents...that's much harder on the PK and exposes them more

The standard NHL intermission used to be 15 minutes decades ago, now it's been stretched to 18, and that's just regular season. Pretty sure that gets stretched even further in the playoffs.
