London Knights 2024 - 25 Season Thread, Part VII

Meh, it was an okay period. Decent defensively and missed some chances to go up more. Don’t think there’s much to complain about regarding officiating that period.

Will preface this by saying I have not watched every Knights playoff game this year. However Dickinson in my mind has really cleaned up the mental mistakes he was a bit guilty of during the season. Actually can’t remember the last time he had a blatant “brain cramp” occur?

Wow can’t believe how many odd man rushes we have got So many good chances. Just like the first 2 games these 3 teams played all rely on there goalies to keep them in it hasn’t worked yet. We need another big 3rd ! Go Knights !

20 miles to go.
Trusting in this group to get this one n chill til Sunday. They know how to.lock it down
(If not, one more bonus game for us to enjoy.;)

Medicine Hat are surprising many as expected. With this 3-1 win over the Knights, they go straight to the final, and force London to play a semi-final against one of the QMJHL team.

You could kind of see this loss coming with all their missed chances in the first and second periods. I swear London are not sleeping well, don't know if it is a curfew problem or not, they are not themselves, or what ever it is.

Next game for London will be Friday night at 7pm

Hate to be negative but you cannot head into these tournaments with offence lacking. Lots of people wanted an elite forward added at the deadline but that was frowned upon on here. Well you lose 1 goal games at these times. Happened several times in past Memorial Cups to London. Disappointing. Congratulations to Medicine Hat. They are in the driver’s seat.

that was a pretty one-sided game. If it wasn't for missing on our chances as we did in mass quantity, I thought we played a great game. We neutralised their top 2 lines to nothing while creating our own chances. 2 unlucky bounces and they scored on both.
Anybody else notice Corrado always pointing out things that should be called on us and a total disregard to anything that should have been called on them. He is trash

Welp, I'd rather them get burned here, then come storming back in the next two. Don't learn anything if they come back in this game.

They played like meh for 40 minutes tonight. Can't do that again, especially after dominating and completely controlling the game in the 1st.

Dale will have the boys ready on Friday

Should have won, just didn’t bury chances tonight.

Call me crazy though, but I am kind of okay with losing this one. I just feel like in a short tournament like this, the big lay off till Sunday can hurt you. Playing Friday, as long as they win of course, keeps you mentally and physically engaged and with the day off Saturday, isn’t like it’s a back to back situation. I have not done any research on this, I just feel like teams with the big layoff don’t perform as well, come final game.

Of course, can’t look past Friday’s game though, or you won’t see Sunday. I’m just looking at what I think, could be an underlying positive.

The other way to look at it is you have to beat a team in the semis that you’ve already beaten (hard to beat a team twice in this tournament) and you have to win Sunday. We’ll see.

For sure!
But that also works for my theory too, of course gotta get passed Friday. But if you can get passed Friday, then Medicine Hat has to beat you twice!

Absolutely Frankie sucks. He wanted interference call on bonk but said nothing when bonk got tripped. Doesn’t anyone agree Barkey got tripped on his breakaway ??? Hey we out played them the shots they got the most part were not dangerous And the chances they gave up over and over will come back to haunt there goalie played well but if we buried a couple of tbe many chances we had right in alone we could of easily won it . They will come out Friday and Sunday and play great
