London Knights 2024 - 25 Season Thread, Part VII

it would have been a tough one to lose for either team. Monkton really played a structured game as did London. Monkton is well coached and have a good defensive team. London is well coached, is a good defensive team with a lot of offense to go with it. I think this is a preview of the final
Rimouski, if we play our game the same way as tonight, we will get many more quality chances from turnovers and fast breaks. We just have to slow them down and take advantage of their mistakes.
Medicine Hat is a 1 line team similar to Oshawa. Do not take penalties at all or they will score. That is their game plan. Stay out of the box and secure the victory

Tigers a one line team? McKenna, Wiesblatt, Basha, Lindstrom, Ward, Ritchie, St.Martin, then offense from Pickford, Molendyk.

Bash had 84 points the year before, Ryder has 160 points in 161 games played, Wiesblatt had 103 points this year, Ward with 252 points in 263 GP, Lindstrom 88 Pts in 99 GP etc.

They scored 300 goals, London only scored 25 more.

Moncton tried to skate with the Knights, but for only 2 periods, they ran out of gas in the third and in overtime. London got stronger and stronger as the game progressed, to a point that the Wildcats couldn't keep up to London pace.
I was very impressed with Moncton. What a solid team. In this tournament there are no easy games. Each team is able to win it

I wasn't quite as impressed as some are, what we saw last night was practically the best that Moncton had to offer all season. Their best effort lasted two periods! Their league isn't as good as the OHL western conference where the Knights are playing, so they aren't as used to playing at this level. Because they are well-balanced and well-coached, Moncton is at most as good as Kitchener Rangers. Their sole issue was that they were unable to capitalize on their advantages in the league that was less competitive this year.

Medicine Hat is the team I worry most, their game structure, very much resemble that of the Knights. On a bad knights' game and a good Tiger's game can bring down London in a one game setting.

I thought the pace of the game last night was noticeably quicker than the Rimouski/Medicine Hat game. I thought the Knights looked a bit rusty for the first two periods but started to look more like themselves in the third. Good game and two pretty evenly matched teams

Much faster pace than the previous game of the tourney, and it progressed with each period for the Knights. London are better to be ready tonight, Rimouski are using the 2005 defeat as motivation. Quebec league teams do like to play with a lot of emotions, and this 2005 motivation will be a prime example of that tonight.

Lindstrom is hurt almost all the time so if you want to be technical, they are a 1 1/2 line team. They are similar to Oshawa with a leathal 5 man PP which is better than us. If Lindstrom does play that is like adding Barkey to our lineup. Anything can happen in one game where what is known about the other team is minimal. Hope for a good game. The games I did see of them, everything was about the PP and they make a lot of mistakes which London should be able to turn into goals. Keep your head on a swivel and enjoy the ride. Our depth should neutralize them enough to win but anything is possible. The Refs could call everything on us which is potential death against McKenna. Keep pressure on Molendyk all game and don't let Pickford shoot from the point for a tip in goal. Easy-Peasy. LOL

Austin Elliott, is Brian Elliott's nephew. How come we did not know that? And now that we do know, why are we surprised of his performances? He sure has adjusted his game since the Owen Sound series.
Although in fairness as a “nephew” of an exceptional CHL goalie / NHL goalie the “bloodline” is getting a bit diluted? :):)

I see he is listed as a Goalie Development Coach for the St Louis Blues so I see where you are headed with this …..

It’s funny that Dale has not mixed up the lines in months. Usually he is always tweaking, I rethink he found what you could consider perfection in this knight’s edition.

Let’s go!!!!!!!!

They have just said on RDS that CHL has fined London $1000, for using intimidation tactic against Moncton players before last night's game during the warmups  !

Dale's knows how it's done. Cheap investment for a winning hockey game.
