London Knights 2024 - 25 Season Thread, Part VII

As predicted. Atleast so far Moncton looks like a good challenger for the knights.
Many teams play London hard when they meet them, Moncton is no difference. London is playing well and are playing their game, have no reason to worry yet, unless they stop playing with intensity, that is. They have got to win some face-offs too.

The Memorial Cup patch is on their butts.

It’s embarrassing! A tournament that is an honour to play in, pays tribute to our veterans, is one of the most difficult tournaments to win. Yeah, let’s put that badge of honour on the players’ asses!
Thats crazy it’s so small and can barely be seen.

So they just covered the CHL patch with the Memorial Cup patch. That is beyond pathetic.

Good aggressive PK by Moncton. Who wants to make a play n take control here. A little open ice with 4on4 n 8 miles to go.

Rousseau playing well. LK with more chances but Moncton playing a solid structured game. They anticipate well n get to spots to disrupt flow.
OT.

Didn’t want to start a new thread as im sure someone here can answer. Is this the 1st year teams are not wearing a Memorial Cup Patch on the jerseys and I assume that M patch is some sponsor patch for the tournament.
I saw someone answered the memorial cup patch placement portion of this, the M on the front is Motorola. Must have paid big bucks for that spot on every team.

3 on 3 OT with a flood. Interesting.

Lots of room out there. Does LK have the gumption to roll 2 Fs n a D for the first 3/4 shifts?
7/86/23/13/47 with 59/3?
Starting with the puck off draws would help.
Haven't tracked draws to see who on LK has been strongest (or least bad lol)
Win or lose a good way to start the tourney...challenged and a reminder nothing will come easy.

London win their first game of this year's big "M" cup 3-2 in overtime

Although it was a close game on the scoreboard, London were never in trouble and were in control of the game.

Overall, they should be pleased with their game, excellent team effort, and Austin Elliott was strong in net.

Other than being out-class in the face-offs, they played really well away from the puck to compensate. They are out to be happy with their performance and get some confidence going from here.

Tomorrow night, Rimouski at 6pm. Rimouski will start strong, and that is a sure thing, but will likely slow down as the game progress and London takes full control of the game. IMHO
