I am a Leaf supporter BUT can’t help feeling they will screw this up. Marner is the guy you build around. If you ask me yes they have to make some significant changes and this should be moving out Matthews and Riley. Riley by the way was horrendous in Game 7 but for whatever reason seems to have escaped the criticism? Just way too soft when the crunch comes. Again all the “brilliant” Leaf supporters forget Marner is the set up guy if he has no one to move the puck to guess what no points from Marner. I like both Matthews and Riley as “guys” but they just can’t be counted to lead when the tough stuff arrives.
Auston instead of playing in Swiss Elite league as an 18 year old should have been in the CHL or even the NCAA battling it out in the playoffs instead of sashaying down the bunny slopes in Switzerland. But he does look good with his spiffy fashions!

Whats the cap space for Carolina? Either way, the scapegoating by media and fans is beyond anything Ive ever seen. The whole damn team is at fault.

We can be singling out one player at a time, pointing the finger at half dozen players, the fact is, one or a handful of players does make up the full team. The fans are truly trying to unfairly run Marner out of town, and yet his true heart is with this town.
The Maple Leafs, sadly enough, as good as they are, they are not a well-balanced team, they haven't been in quite some time. Using the majority of the cap money on six players leaves little money available to acquire players the team needs to balance out the lines and the team as a whole. Marner has likely been discussing with his agent for some time now, so I'm willing to bet he already knows where he's going to play next season. He needs to know what his values are around the league, he really can not make anything public until sometime after first of July. Marner is from Toronto, he wants to stay in Toronto and loves Toronto ! Any team that wants to take him away from Toronto, will need a lot of cash, and be in contention for the cup.
His little yelling at his teammates says a lot about which team he wants to win with, so I think he'll want to stick around even if it means taking a small pay cut.

I predict he leads tournament in scoring- him or Cowan. Despite that I don’t think they win.
Moncton probably a better overall team. London is a better team too.
All depends how basha and Lindstrom perform. If they do real well it could take some of the focus off McKenna. Will be a good tournament and really looking forward to watching the opener tonight. Think Medicine Hat should win but ya never know with the home crowd.

, and certainly not a Leafs fan. I've been a Marner fan since the first time I saw him play in London. He's steadily developed since that day and turned out to be the player I expected. I'd say his scoring and defense are comparable to Gilmour but doesn't have the sandpaper.
