London Knights 2024 - 25 Season Thread, Part VII

This should be a great series and success for London will be highly dependent on their team discipline - both in terms of staying out of the penalty box as well as patience and adherence to Dale's systems. Oshawa is a solid team and has been on a roll, but so have the Knights - all year basically. Knights in 7

Have the Generals ever had to cope with an accomplished "agitator" like Sim ?? If not, this is a situation where he can really become a difference-maker. If he can initiate without retaliating, he's quite capable of getting any of their "star players" off their game. He does have that ability to get under opponents' skin, and when that happens, he draws penalties, but the key is doing so with discipline. He's also has a bit of a scoring touch, and has become adept at tipping point shots and screening the opposition's goaltender. He has the potential to become a real headache for their d-men and goaltender.

If you don't have "bona-fide stars", you've got to find a way to neutralize their effect. Sim just might be one way to accomplish that objective.

According to London Knights Ticketmaster
Game 1 - Thursday
Game 2 - Saturday
Game 5 - Thursday May 15
Game 7 - Monday May 19

Still nothing for the Oshawa Games
TSN must have other things broadcasting on Friday. No way Knights would miss a Friday night if they had their say.
It appears TSN is trying to go opposite of Leafs/Panthers to not compete against sportsnet.

Leafs/Panthers schedule is:
Monday May 5th
Wednesday May 7th
Friday May 9th
Sunday May 11th
Wednesday May 14th
Friday May 16th
Sunday May 18th

That puts Londons currently schedule all on Opposite days so Oshawa is likely to follow suit.

Very very very likely Generals/Knights schedule:
Thursday May 8th London
Saturday May 10th London
Monday May 12th Oshawa
Tuesday May 13th Oshawa
Thursday May 15th London
Saturday May 17th Oshawa
Monday May 19th London

I was right. TSN didn't want to go head to head with the Leafs.

OHL (CHL) is not professional hockey. The local broadcasters who cover the games all season should have the rights to all the playoffs and the Memorial Cup. Let TSN and Sportsnet cover professional sports.

That's like saying TSN shouldn't cover the World Juniors.

I can't believe people would rather watch this than network TV.

I think some of the keys as per usual are don’t take stupid penalties, play well on PK, play them physically, play good defensive structure and shut down their top guys.

Oshawa top end guys are as good as any in the league, but I do think London is deeper. Depth will likely be the difference if both teams are able to neutralize each others stars.

Hard to see the Knights (who are determined to get back to the MemCup) not winning this series. I think this series will be close though! Oshawa is primed for this.

Can’t wait for game 1! GO KNIGHTS GO!

What’s the situation with the watch party for the away games?

I think Barkey will be back for game 1
