London Knights 2024 - 25 Season Thread, Part VII

London takes 1-0 lead in the conference final

They did play really well, great team win, every players contributed with their efforts. We could name a few exceptional players, but since it is a team game, let's just say they are all deserving. Hope Barkey's injury is not as serious as it looks, I know many may not like this but let's also say the same for Kitchener's Andonovski, both are really valuable for their respective team

It's only one game, the series is not won yet, Windsor won their first game against Kitchener 5-1 and still loss the series

Like the post game pressers.......
1 coach whines about a non call early and running to the league for help after a review by refs........
The vet coach, just says he is wrong lol. And when asked about Barkey injury just leaves it at "it was late" but didn't say he is sending a tape in asking for help. I like that messaging better.
Both coaches sending a message trying to help their clubs. All good.

One coach like a professional. One did not.

If Denver Barkey is out long term (for his sake I hope not) what would the lines look like. My thought is (please dissect) is :

Cowan-O’Rielly-Halttunen
Nurmi-Julien-Sim
Montgomery-Nicholl-Van Gorp (or Hawery)
Boulton-Van Bommel-Read

can’t argue with that. You could make the case for Aboflan getting some games. Depends how the series goes, I suppose. Will speed be more of a factor or physical play. London can play any style you want.

Some ppl here are in the know
I'm not "in the know" but I called Barkey after the game posing as a telemarketer trying to get him to change his cell phone plan... Halfway through the call I abruptly asked him "so, are you going to play on Sunday or what?" He was startled and didn't answer that but now he wants to change his cell phone plan and I just don't know what to do?!?

Sorry I couldn't help with his playing status but is anyone "in the know" on here on how I can help him change his cell phone plan?

Game 1 was officiated great….if the game was played in the 1980s. The only way the Rags can keep up with the Knights is by hooking and holding. I lost count of how many cross checks to the face and punches to the head went uncalled.

I was hoping under a new Commissioner the league would get their officials in order but I guess not. Very few know how to control a game and when you start letting things go, the players push the limit a little more each time until someone gets injured.

Nichol has no clue what he is going out there and looks intimidated by the players. Hoping for better from the league in Game 2 or there will be more injuries.

I wouldn't touch the second line, Montgomery can play first line duty with O'Reilly and Cowan. Of course, Dale knows his players best working with them every day
