London Knights 2024 - 25 Season Thread, Part VII

Knights strength is 3 solid lines, 6 solid dmen, and solid goaltending. Dale can move pieces in and out of lineup to make 4th pretty decent as well. Van Gorp, VanBommel, Read, Hawery, Ablofan, and Boulton. Kitchener is small so they don’t need muscle as they would have with Windsor so Hawery could easily slot in. Is VanBommel hurt? He slots in real well there as he can play it anyway they want him to.

If Parekh had of taken it home I can't see how one would argue against it. The same could be said here I think, hard to argue against it.
An argument can be made that Dickinson did it on a loaded team like the Knights while Parekh has an amazing season with a much lesser team. I still think Sam Dickinson is light years better but there's a good argument for Parekh.

It’s now game day. A Knights team on 7 days rest and a Rangers team just off an emotional comeback series. Will be interesting to see how game 1 plays out.

Agreed! It will be extremely important. Let’s hope the boys are ready and have the foot on the Gas all game

I think the first ten minutes is going to be key. I see London coming out slow and sloppy and Kitchener running on the adrenaline of their big game 7 win. If we can weather the first ten minutes without any or much harm I think game one is ours!

Set the tone. Hit them often, hit them hard. Out skate them. Go Knights Go!

Need a big series from BMO

You make it sound so easy, I hope Kitchener does not think of it first :)

Agreed BMO needs a coming out party here, especially since he will most likely be matched up against the Rangers 3rd D pairing for most of his 5 on 5 shifts.
Haha good point. Knights are experienced and should know what to do at this point!

Stubbsy said he was the leading scorer during the season vs Kitchener so expecting big things!

London's speed of execution is often being interpreted as too aggressive, given them troubles, lots of it with the refs. Speed of execution is London success and bread and butter, it is also what is landing them in the sin box, more often than not it is misread by officials. as rough plays. London in 5 or 6, but Kitchener have broken all expectations this year.

Hunter knows best...but i would sit Boulton and play Hawery. Cam Allen will have a series!

While that may be what we all want, I highly see them making any changes to a team that is 8-0 in the playoffs regardless of the teams they have played. Boulton has played 25 seconds over the past 5 third periods as they run with 3 lines with the occasional shift ofrom EVG and Read with Nicholl or Monty.

Hawery is by far the better player, I also would like to see Van Bommell in the lineup. With that said, I fully understand why Boulton dresses. He brings something to the table very few can, if things start getting hairy or guys start taking runs to Barkey/Cowan, he can calm things down. If you get down early and need a momentum turn, you tell him to go out there and do that. Just having him sitting on the bench, he plays a factor and makes opponents think.

It hasn't been the same lineup for all 8 games though, Aboflan dressed for the 2 games in Owen Sound. But, I posted in post #69, why I think Boulton is in the lineup.

6 of the 8 lineups have been the same, the other 2 have had Aboflan in. Boulton is somewhat feared and Aboflan is not. As much as it would be to see a guy like Hawery in the lineup the last thing the lineup needs is another goal scorer. If a tone needs to be set, or someone starts to take liberties with our guys then who cares is Boulton gets kicked out of the game for any retribution.

You get your wish. Van Bommel is in EVG out.

Agree and would add that we will need that entire line creating secondary offense 5 on 5 to take pressure off the top line. If that line can get going a bit more in this series, I like our chances. Go Knights!!
