London Knights 2024-25 Season Thread, Part VI

But I thought heMontgomery has made a couple coverage mistakes as have a bunch of others. Maybe slide VanBommel in a drop Ablofan but I thought he played well for limited action he got.
That is just the thing, some only looks at offensive numbers in a player. It doesn't matter how well a player plays away from the puck, if he doesn't score, sit him and get a replacement. It is just insane

Feel bad for George. He looks like he's been through a war. At what point does the coach pull him do he can get the ovation he deserves?
Attack fan here. First off Congrats to the Knights on moving on I don't think this surprises anyone. My Attack gained valuable experience and learned a lot by competing against what I feel is a top 3 of Knights teams in the Hunter era. As far as Carter, Coach asked if he wanted to come out but Carter rebuffed him and wanted to finish.

Great series!

OS full marks on effort.

For those criticizing the team on defensive lapses or drops in player production, these games were mostly over in the first. I think the staff told the players to relax and have fun, that meant being a bit lose and creative. We gave up a few too many chances but it didn’t matter, victory was decisive.

With a more worthy opponent you would see our defense tighten up but also a drop in the offensive action aka the Harlem Globetrotters performance seen last night. It was entertaining hockey and I would say 10/10!

Full marks to Owen sound that was a tough as hell 4 games. Knights were challenged which is great. With this being said round 2 is a different animal. Erie is playing some super inspired hockey right now. If Saginaw beats them they would be playing some incredible hockey to do so!

Kitchener and Windsor are also playing great hockey now. It only gets tougher. Keep the offence flowing, but tighten up the D

That Cam Allen goal deflated the Attack big time.....right after they tie the game on Monty's gaf...Allen makes a great move at the blue line and scores. This goal will help him even be more of a factor in remaining series.

Honest question, not trying to start anything, as most know its seems the West goes through London this year and you guys have earned it, but as far as round 2 and possibly beyond who do you think you match up better against and would want to play ( Erie or Saginaw in Rd 2 )

I’d prefer Erie. The boys hate Saginaw so much that I think they would be undisciplined

It won’t matter, London will destroy either team.

Erie is the better team due in most part by Erliden.

I would love love love to play Saginaw just to see Perekh rocked but there is no way we come out of a Saginaw series without suspensions.

Personally I thought Carter George looked awfully ordinary?
As for Elliott he didn’t seem to get many favourable bounces come his way in the few shots he did face.

It does not matter, nor should it, every team they meet will need to be taking care of, at whatever orders they come across.

Not surprised that Carter hit the wall after a huge workload this year.

The Knights just swept a series and some fans want players fired into the sun.

What will make you guys happy? Every player getting 10pts a game and the goalie getting a SO every game?

Do you perform at a 100% everyday at work? These are teenagers and things can affect how they play. They are human, they make mistakes.

Just enjoy watching a good team play good hockey and stop looking for perfection where it doesn’t exist.
If that’s what you think then the point went right over your head.
The point is, these errors and or lack of effort will not be suitable against a stronger opponent. And if changes either in personnel or corrections from the players side of things are not made, we will be talking about what went wrong and how the team will look for next year.
Some of these players need to pick it up….maybe not against Erie, but teams like Windsor, Kitchener, Kingston, Moncton will make you pay.
That’s all that’s being said.

Austin Elliott has a save % of .868 and the Knights have a serious goaltending problem and will be lucky to win another game.

Carter George has a save % of .855 and he's the second coming of Martin Brodeur
Who said these things? This is just a ridiculous extrapolation to show how much you missed the point.
Elliot hasn’t looked as good as he has been during the season. Would it be worth giving Medvedev a shot to see if he catches light wing in a bottle. Is that easier to digest?
That’s all that’s being said.

As a fan, happy with the first rd, and agree with GG44. The D will have more focus/commitment moving forward.

What's being said is that Elliott has a poor save % and should be rested.

Carter George had an even worse save % and a bigger drop from his regular season and has been praised.

Playoffs are not the time to experiment. Elliott is the starter and will continue to be until he loses the job. He hasn't come close to losing it yet

LK shouldn't be worried about either as a matchup. Not being a cocky fan, just think they need to focus on themselves. I'd prefer Erie as I'm not a Saginaw fan ( well Parekh fan lol) but either would be fun to watch if LK wins for different resasons

George is true competitor, hung in there even when the chips were way down. Good Series Knights. Should be some great hockey in the next month.

It’s a situation with no right answer. Giving Meds a shot now against a weaker opponent that you can bounce back from has merit, where being down to Kitchener 3-1 and making the change has merit in that you gave Elliot every chance to succeed. I’m glad it’s not my decision to make - obviously the safe bet is going with the older guy.
31 needs to be a bit better though. Likely we will see better team defence as the opponents get tougher.

Respect all opponents, fear no one. As all teams should approach a PO series.
Very True RVE24.
The Boys are battling hard on every shift out there.
They don't back down to anyone confronting them.
Noah Read:
I like his grit, speed and skill.
Congrats to Noah. Great Game!!
LFP Article:
But it was Read’s night Thursday.
“You have to work to earn your spot on this team,” Barkey said after the game. “He came in this year and worked more than anyone. I told him when he scored that hat trick, ‘you deserve this bud, you deserve this.
’”

Problem is Monty hasn't scored lately and is a defensive liability.
