London Knights 2024-25 Season Thread, Part VI

Meds is not starting unless we lose and need to shake things up OR Elliott gets hurt…. Neither is likely to happen. Also Elliott is 5th right now out of the 16 playoff goaltenders, he can and will improve but he is not bad at all. Chill.

Same goes for Hawery getting some reps, only if we have an injury. This is playoffs, play stupid games - win stupid prizes.

Should Medvedev get the start in game 4?
Hmm I must say this post has made me a whole lot nervous. Several commented on how putting in Medsy (who really was a 1B all season) could shatter Elliott’s confidence. OMG do these folks know something we all don’t? I mean this is a kid who is a CHL veteran (not AAA Peewee) playing his overage year yet most think he is fragile as an egg? I think back to last years OA goalie Michael Simpson and dare I say if he sat one game he would have been chomping at the bit to get back in and prove that it was his crease and no one’s else. Just makes me a bit nervous as when we get deeper into this we are going to need our keeper to play at his maximum performance level if not actually above? Anyway no Game 4 goes to Elliott as a win means a long layoff so we want the rust to not penetrate to deep. I would have thought long and hard of going with Medsy in Game 3 on the road?

Elliott is still playing his regular season self mode, he is figuring things out that the game has sped up around him, and that everyone has moved up a notch, so don't worry about him. I'm sure he's going to adjust just fine as the series keeps rolling.

Really? He seems like the type to not get shaken by that. A rest may be good for him and nice for Medsy to get a playoff start. Just saying Medsy had a good year as well!
He does not need rest. He's played every other game all year. He's well rested. They've made the decision to have him be the starter for the playoffs. He's been great all year....relax.

Allen is a great D-man and before his mistake was playing Dickenson/Bonk caliber Hockey. His play has dropped a bit but i think after a bit of time he will be back to where he was.

That is fair. I’m just saying the young guy will need some playoff experience as well.

He will get back to it. Hopefully he has lots of energy for a long run

Big guns came through.
Top line + Dickinson = win.
I have it on good authority ( his wife) that local radio personality, former Tanglefoot singer and current RPR and Midnight Blue performer, amateur astronomer, beer league hockey player and all round good guy Steve Ritchie will deliver The National Anthem at Thursdays game , at precisely 143 bpm.

Couple that with Mark McKelvie on television broadcast, it should make for an interesting watch.

Enjoy 😉

Hope the team can close it out tonight. What I have been most impressed with is how the Knights have kept their composure with the one sided officiating and continued to play their game and not lose their cool. And really impressed with the line of Barkey-O’Rielly-Cowan and Dickinson’s offensive play and the defensive play of Bonk. The big guns have stepped up. Halttunen’s physical play is a plus as well and Sim continues to be the spark plug of the team.

Some Knights fans expect every player to be perfect including the goalies needing a SO every game.

Haltunenn is the guy who impresses me most.
He may be the most pro ready.
He's big , strong and mean .
And don't let him near the net.
Well done

You are a pleasure on these boards. A class act. I hope the majority of us treat you the same way. The Attack have some interesting young pieces. Hopefully an exciting future for you and the rest of the Attack fans.

Aw shucks...
I've had my moments ...
I've mellowed as I've aged and appreciate the sport of junior hockey for what it is.

There are so many wonderful fans around the league.

What a pleasure to watch the Knights team, as an outsider.

We ALL are cheering for the same thing, I think.

There's a large group of knowledgeable, passionate hockey fans, and I enjoy the engagement.

Let's talk about what's great about the sport and grow it .

BTW Alec Leonard is a real gem of a player .

He's a real trooper, a leader and I hope he has enjoyed closing out his career in Owen Sound .
