Fine & probation for Allen.

Allen was sentenced to two years of probation, including an order to complete 100 hours of community service. He is prohibited from driving for two years.

Part of his probation order includes counselling for alcohol issues.

He also was fined $4,000 and must pay a $1,200 victim fine surcharge, for a total of $5,200. He has 12 months to pay.

A lighter sentence than I originally thought. A 2 year ban from driving is not a suprise though.

Blake Speers (ex-Soo captain) recently received a $2000 fine and 12 month driving ban for a DUI (source: Linda Richardson, Soo Today, Feb. 26/25).
Speers was pulled over so not the same set of circumstances.
Speers considered model citizen.
Just sayin...

Allen's sentence fits what anyone would've gotten regardless of hockey ability, glad to see he pled guilty and didn't try and weasel out of it.

I couldn't believe Brantford is ahead of Oshawa in the standings.

Brantford is 5-2 against Oshawa this year and that’s the reason they’re in first place in the East.

Brantford has one ultra elite line and if you shut that line down, you’ve shut the entire team down. A well coached team can figure that out pretty easily. A poorly coached team is going to struggle with it.

He has already missed 10 games. League needs to finalize its decision quickly now that it’s through the court system. Player/team need/deserve closure.

It'll be interesting. In other cases discipline has happened while the player was accused, not yet convicted, and things were working their way through the system. I'd be surprised if he wasn't out the rest of the year and welcome to return next season. Mailloux was 4 months, Sept-Jan after it was settled.

He can't return next season. He's 20 years old

Kitchener could get 106 I think.

Wow so he will be back for playoffs then likely?
I would bet he's back in 1-2 weeks MAX. -he took accountability for a really poor decision and wants to move on. All charges were dropped minus the DUI.
Pretty much bang on with how i said this would play out. Slap on the wrist and will play hockey before the playoffs
Glad they didn't take the Oshawa fans advice and give him Life behind bars.

One thing i want to add is I think the league as a part of his consequences for violating the league COC that they should mandate him to attend some kind of Alcohol education course.
