London Knights 2024-25 Season Thread, Part V

  • Xenforo Cloud has upgraded us to version 2.3.6. Please report any issues you experience.
For you curious lineup fans, Bulldogs are missing Testa (he is always hurt, feel bad for the kid) and Avery. Jiricek in (also always hurt), and not that it matters tonight, but Egorov is backing up. He had his finger blown off in practice from a Lardis shot.

There's been some talk that Budnick will be out with a suspension (nothing posted yet as I type this). If he's in the Brantford lineup tonight, he could have a target on his back from the game in Guelph. You'll recall that he roughed up Barkey, and Cowan stepped in, dropped the gloves... didn't fare too well.
Knights usually seek retribution when those sorts of things happen. We shall see if tonight is a nasty affair.
Assuming Meds gets the start...he needs a big game against a tough opponent.
I think with the last two stinkers that Meds has played, you will see a clear cut starter for the rest of the year into playoffs now. As a 17yr old he’s had a great season but it may be wearing on him. And besides you don’t go get an OA goalie if he isn’t going to be your man come playoffs. Time for Elliot to get ready for lots of crease time.

Noah Read has shown he deserves to be an every game player. He gives his all every shift. And nice to see Nurmi’s hard work rewarded with a nice goal. One of the better overall team efforts. And Elliott was spectacular when needed. Nice win against the number 1 team in the East in their barn.

Read is a solid player and will be an important contributor in the coming years. The Knights know how to find em

On behalf of the Oshawa Generals organization and Oshawa fans everywhere, thank you London for taking care of business in Brantford tonight.

It makes Sunday night’s loss marginally less painful.
I couldn't believe Brantford is ahead of Oshawa in the standings.

Am I correct in thinking that the Knights need 6 or 7 more points to clinch 1st place?

9 remaining games
Kingston
Sarnia
Guelph
Guelph
Saginaw
Windsor
Kitchener
Windsor
Erie

The gauntlet in there is the last 5 games. All teams that are contenders in the West.

Yes you are correct. Windsor can get 104 points by winning every remaining game. The Knights need 7 points to get 105 points. LOOKING GOOD

Windsor can max out at 101 points and Kitchener can max out at 104 points.

So, 6 points for London, to reach 104 would do it. As they have the ROW tiebreaker in hand.

Take care of business the next 3 or 4 games and avoid having to do it against the tougher teams, rest some guys in those games to not allow teams to take cheap shots at our guys leading into the playoffs.
