I believe the game tonight is the definition of "Sh!tg!ng the Bed".
Go up 3-0, chase the Spits goalie and take their foot off the gas. Special teams not so special and lack of discipline evident the whole game. Shades of the Oshawa game from a few weeks ago. Just going through the motions. Pathetic effort after going up 3-0. Must do better.

cowan’s lack of hustle to stay with the Windsor defenseman caused him to take a stupid penalty. Then the whole ffing thing caved in. We must lead the league in undisciplined stupid penalties. Learn a lesson from it and move on. Just make sure you learn a lesson from it. I thought Allen alone had three, Bonk two and Cowan one. Back in the day Knights fans on forums called Kadri and turnover machine. Wasn’t he a Leaf draft pick. Still think he is playing hurt. I think we quit skating and playing good hockey once we were up 3-0. Better play will be required for Tuesday. Go Knights Go. Still in first and are good for it. Bobble head Cowboy Knight.

What an absolute joke of a third period. Second wasn't much better. Stupid penalties... bone head plays and LAZY back checking and turnovers.

Barkey game in and game out is absolutely fantastic. Absolute work horse. Nurmi has really been working his but off and playing well. Saw Barkey drinking a pepsi during the game.....haven't seen that since Chara.

This game really shows how this team could win the the OHL ( the first 30 minutes) or how they could be bounced in the first round of the playoffs. Jump into an early lead and then completely take their foot off the gas and let the opposing team back in the game. Take stupid penalties and let the other team then run the game and make bad play choices offensively and poor coverage defensively. Once the game was tied you never felt they would win the game. And they didn’t. Learn from this and all will be okay. Repeat it and will be not. The ingredients are there but they can’t seem to be able to put them together lately. Just don’t see the killer instinct needed to win it all. I REALLY hope I’m wrong with that last comment.

The issue with having "This good of a team" is falling into bad habits and I think that is what we saw last night. Getting that early 3 goal lead and it seemed like the boys just mentally shut off and figured it was going to be an easy night. Hopefully this is going to be a good teaching lesson for them. As the late great Kobe always said, Hardwork outweighs talent everytime. We got outworked.

No broken down bus excuse last night. This team shut off after the third goal. It seems to me that after Christmas, London has struggled to play a full 60 minute game. Think about it. I can probably count on one hand the amount of complete games the Knights have played since after Christmas. Sure, playing well for 30 minutes or even 1 period may get it done against weaker teams but not against top teams like Windsor, Kitchener or Oshawa.
The PP that was so lethal up to December has become predictable and stagnant.
Probably the worst game this season by the D corps. And the offensive side wasn't much better. And how do you not score against a goalie that wears a white mask this late in the season that came in cold? Cowan seems off. Nichol hasn't been the same since his injury. Jules is Jules. Haltsy and Nurmi haven't lit up the scoreboard like we had hoped. Oreilly is hot and cold. Montgomery has dropped off and come back down to earth. Faceoffs were a killer as well.
Barkey has been the only consistent player, with Sim a close second.
Still seeing too many players giving up a prime shooting chance to try and make that perfect pretty pass play instead.
I know it's only one game but last night was a winnable game and instead of giving London some breathing room atop the standings all they did was give Windsor a major confidence boost and allow them to close the gap.
Let's see what Tuesday holds. If they can turn it around and dominate then I'll say that last night was an aberration. If they come out flat and lose at home to Kitchener then I would say that we are in trouble come playoff time.

I do not think the players or coaches would use that excuse either. Unfortunately the kids got roped into to playing Windsor style hockey and eventually got too concerned with being stupid and getting retribution rather than sticking to what has brought them to where they are. With kids this age that can be an emotional thing and that is where the coaching staff has to rein them in and start showing a message to those taking dumb penalties and making dumb plays.
