I thought the broadcast team from North Bay were good. We lost almost every important faceoff at the end of the game. Our goaltending was very steady.

Yeah I feel like at this point it’s all good. Not sure what will be done, but let’s just say he has been consistent. It’s been fun for the fans to follow and track.

Was it fun being in attendance? What’s the NB vibe like?

Interesting EVG and Julien are tied with 28 points.

EVG has been productive! Underrated
Indeed, they have made significant progress since my previous visit. Their uniforms now resemble those of the Centennial era, featuring a tank for their logo. I sat beside a family, there were very nice, but very talkative, we had many interrupting conversations that kind of kept me away from the game, unfortunately.

Ryan pyettes article said he still has the point streak
I was at the game in Kitchener and had good view of the pass and thought Julien should definitely get the assist and the video has definitely confirmed that for me granted my opinion counts for nothing. I don't blame either Ryan or Josh from reporting on the lines of their readers. My only issue is if the rules change to allow this to streak to stand as the tying mark for the CHL record of Super Mario than I have a big problem with the league's accountability. I also find it weird that the league hasn't posted anything about this?

That is the third jersey.

I don’t see how Wang is definitively better than Brzustewicz. I get that he’s 6’6

Nothing the matter with Brzustewicz's playing, his progression is on par and will be better by draft day. With that said, I have been noticing Wang's playing lately with the Generals as well, he is more involved in plays than Brzustewicz is at the moment. Wang makes himself known every time he is on the ice, and that is an eye-catcher for scouts. Presently Wang is ahead, but Brzustewicz has more talent to show and should be close to a first round selection when the time comes, as long as he keeps improving through the playoffs, he could surpass Wang too. IMHO

Unless the trajectory of the puck was altered, this would have counted as a pass for Cowan in the old days, back in the Gilmore, Lemieux days. Many times, players among themselves would tell the refs who scored and assisted on goal scoring plays. On the review, even tough we see movement of the stick it is not clear a touch was made, it could have been a failed attempt by Julien. Video analysts will have to determine this if the assist is reversible or not. IMHO

I agree with everything you said. I wish an unbiased analysis was done in the league office to put this to bed, to me Julien got a bit of the puck on the way through as the puck went under his stick. If he didn't get a peice of the puck than that would mean his stick was off the ice in the air in which case I'm not sure what made his stick move like that in the video. I can also respect that you are 100% in Mario's day forsure he gets the assist on that play so that's a fair point. Overall according to Brown's article the decision on league reviews remains with the Hunter's to decide what happens which seems wrong as that seems like maybe the most bias person to hold that power. IMHO

Not even sure how this is a discussion. Opposing team player has to have " control" of the puck before it breaks the chain. Pucks hits the goalies pads or other players and bounces out for a player to score. A goal and 1 or 2 assists are awarded. Why is this any different?

Wang currently has 0 points and is a -1 in 8 games though. I know stats aren’t everything, but still

The discussion is Cowan made a pass that Julien may or may not of got a peice off depends what side your on, that Sim than picked up passed to Woolley who shot and Sim scores on the rebound. So I'd think it would Sim from Woolley and Julien but my London Knights friends here disagree with me and feel it should be Sim from Woolley and Cowan. One keeps the historical streak alive and ties Mario's record the other ends it at an amazing 2nd place.

Well here’s the thing the league does not look at this streak as legitimate for the history books. So in the opposing fans view why would it matter? Us knights fans recognize his terrific consistency

Matthew Airhart has 32 points in 34 games for Napanee in the PJCHL (3rd in points for U17 players in that league). Will he get an opportunity next season?

Jackson Taylor has played a lot of places this season including Czechia! Very cool for a U17 player. Is he someone to watch? RD 6’ 194lbs
I doubt either of these players have a chance at next year. I haven't seen either of them play but a ppg player in jr.C and a player that is on his 4th team this year, not looking great.

For Airhart, he would need to surpass a couple of Cover, Bidgood, Gerber, Mews, Monks, & Gammage. Likely only 3-4 spots for that group.

As for Taylor, Being a RD helps his case but again he would have to beat out Fagan or Spencer to get ice time.
Unlikely,

I gotta think Gerber, Bidgood and Cover are locks for next year.

You are, unfortunately, only looking at the player's offensive skill, NHL scouts, don't, they look at all level of the player's talent & skill and if there are more room for future progress
Brz is a minute muncher and can play a great two way game

In today's game, how many goals, even if by average, are called back, for goalie interference or offsides. Even high stick deflections, all reviewable plays, none of this were available at the time when the record that Cowan is chasing was made. Are we now going to argue on one non-reviewable play in order to knock a player from chasing a record? The play in question, is not a reviewable play, the same as it was back in the day when the original record was made. I say the record is still on going

I guess Cowan didn't get assist Tuesday night according to video, come on Knights make right ask for review. Like that's going to happen, we all know he didn't now LOL
Ryan pyettes article said he still has the point streak
Yes I read an article about that in the Kitchener Rag by Josh Brown another Knight hater ….. are you boys related?….if the “point streak” ends is fine by me Go Knights
Julian touched the puck, therefore he should’ve gotten the assist instead of Cowan. But, that’s not on the Knights. That’s on the Ranger stats crew. Whoever was tracking the play missed the Julian touch and Cowan was awarded the assist.

For those, who don’t know, the way it works upstairs is that there is a person with pen and paper and his sole job is to record the number of each player who touches the pluck during the entire play for each team. He’ll jot down the number of each player who touches the puck and then stop when a goal is scored or the puck changes possession, and resume recording the numbers of the other team. So leading up to this goal, he likely recorded 7, 90, 51, 90, goal. When in fact, he should’ve been recording 7, 13, 90, 51, 90, goal. (Sim redirected the puck to Woolley with his skate after Julian touched it with his stick).

Often, when a team has an issue with the official scoring, they’ll approach the official scorer with their concern. Sometimes they get things changed and sometimes they don’t. Had the Knights been looking to get Julian credited with an assist, they probably would’ve sent somebody to talk to the official scorer. Back in the day, I’ve seen Jim McKellar approach official scorers at the Aud during an intermission, politely questioning a scoring play. “Didn’t a particular player touch the puck? Etc. etc..”.

There was even an issue years ago, where Steve Spott got into a confrontation with the Rangers official scorer, demanding Ryan Murphy be credited with an assist. The scorer told him he couldn’t issue him an assist because he didn’t touch the park. He told Spott that he didn’t work for the Rangers, he worked for the league. Spott said back to him, that might be true, but we decide who works in your position. Murphy wasn’t credited with an assist.

If it meant anything to the Knights that Julian get the assist, no doubt they would pursue. But as Tim Wallach said on the Ranger board, Julian will probably say he didn’t touch it so Cowen keeps the streak alive.

I doubt the Rangers really care either way to pursue it themselves.

If the league wants to get particular about it, they could review the tape and take the assist away from Cowan, and give it to Julian. But, I would assume that the league would rather leave it the way it is as it’s probably makes for a better story.

It is similar to a miss call by refs, they don't go back and dish out penalties, after the game on missed calls, it's done and over with. We can as fans look at the game reviews and say, yes the refs did miss the call, but we can't do anything about it, the game is over.

I am looking forward to my trip down to North Bay for tonight's game and into Sudbury tomorrow, leaving my home in about an hour's time. This will be my initial encounter with the Knights live this year, as I live approximately two hours and forty minutes north of North Bay, located two kilometers inside the Quebec Province. Last September, while visiting my kids and grandkids in London and the area, I saw one pre-season game against Sarnia. I am also trying to get to the Soo if all goes well with the plan. At my home, I have multiple screens(4) to watch many games at once, but nothing beats live action. I am hoping for better efforts in their northern trip, than their last game in Kitchener and last year in Sudbury.
My compliments on your dedication to watching multiple screens and games simultaneously. I know for a fact that I couldn't attempt such a feat. If I even tried, after an hour or so, my eye appearance might begin to resemble that of the late actor Marty Feldman.;)

Thank You for the complement !

You get used to it, it is something I have been doing for years now. Taking in games from oversea, out west, south in the States, all three CHL leagues, I don't have the sound on all the games at once, just one. Right now, I am on a weekend trip taking in three live games
