Very excited to see Cover. Heard he is a speedster. Thus far happy with the 08 crop. Hawery and Mitchell look good! Let’s hope Mews pans out. Hickson sounds like he will be an OHLer and same with Janicek. Gotta get Maroon and Monks on board here.
Literally thought of you when I saw the post from the knights. You sounded the table hard enough let see what the kids got!!!

What do we think of Woolley and brzustewicz on the back end for the future?

Also, how did Landon Sim make this team as an OA?!?
What? Have you been watching Sim drives the play and is are only smart physical player besides Aboflan. Julien is watching hoping puck comes to him. He will need to make a change of he wants to make the NHL

Great timing! Lol

Who do you think draws out?
Vanbommel

Vanbommel

Julien does alot of things well without chasing or being aggressive. Often positionally sound. An aggressive forechecker, nope, but it's a 200ft sheet of ice. Isolate him in the D zonevthe next few games without puck watching.
I also can't see him making the NHL (agree with ya) as of now but he can definitely contribute to a top Jr team in a positive way.
Kid has come a long way, further than most ever do after his MM season and where he was then and the path to the OHL and previous focus on education.
Not sure what those who get on his case expect. Not singling u out.

I have noticed, lately, Dale's has been using Julien more and more on important face-offs, not great but respectable at between 55-60%

Budnick no longer with Guelph or the game could get ugly. Recall the "fight" with Cowan.
McGuire is back with Guelph yet it seems like no tough guys in the lineup for London. How un-Dale-like.
Looking forward to watching Clover in his debut.
Meds starts.

Was thinking the same thing. No Boulton, Aboflan, or Vanbommel so I was a bit surprised.

I can't get this image out of my head. Sloan walks into an optometrist's office, and points to those yellow tinted glasses and says, "Sweet, I'll take them!"
5-0 after two.
Scoring spread out.
Karabela and Allen not good friends?
Cowan extends streak to 59.
They say Luchanko is Guelph's top player. Not true, it's #2.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. JJ13 does not belong on this team as an OA. Waste of an OA spot. Lazy, lazy, lazy.

Can you point to a few specific shifts/plays during the game you are basing this opinion on. And if not this game please do it for Sunday or the game after that. If you can give the time of shift(s) that would be awesome. We can post them here and peer review and Ill bet I can find way more positives shift by shift. I just don't see it, the laziness.

And maybe just maybe just maybe DH is prepping him for a specific role later this year and asking certain tbings from him as many good coaches do????
Don't chase, don't over committ or cheap ( they have other Fs more skilled to do that) , D/matchup first mindset, stay above the puck in OZone, velow Dzone work deep in DZone to support the D for an outlst or coverage,, win draws, battle 1on1 for puck control .....ya know.....hockey stuff.
He isn't a top offensive player, agreed, but adds value to the team, For those with blinders on cause he doesn't skate 1000mph or smash into players........who do ypu think should replace him in the lineup

We could say 4th line Read n Cover took penalties on consecutive shifts and both were useless, bad, unnecessary infractions, and neither is as defensively responsible as JJ, so we can't pick them lol. Bolton, Aboflan can't bring what he does.....Van Bommelll nope, isn't as effective as a complete player (yet)

Are you saying they should have upgraded the OA spot he holds?
And if so what would you have subtract from the future to make that addition?
Ain't/wasnt worth it n people with far more hockey experience n knowledge (Hunters) than us posters agreed. He is fine as a 3rd C.
And no, i dont think he is a star, no connection either, but some fans just gotta find a negative to harp on all season long wether it's reality or not.

You can't be a lazy, lazy, lazy and play every game for the Knights. Unless they've changed philosophy since covid. Because before that I had first hand experience what the expectationsfor players/prospects were.
Kid ain't lazy....maybe you meant methodical, calculated, structured, safe?

I'll stop defending him here now, its obvious some need a whipping boy even on a great team.

What a game by medsy… he is the REAL DEAL. From a goalie perspective man he is fun to watch - some big big saves tonight, what impressed me most what his rebound control was near perfect which means his angles were on point. You can see the confidence in his game. IMO they give both tendies a chance in playoffs. I’m just happy we get to watch him for another 2 seasons we are spoiled!

His work as a whole this season leaves a lot to be desired. Your OAs should be leaders in the team. He doesn't lead. He coasts and is lazy on the puck. Doesn't need to throw his weight around, but ffs, pretend like you want to be here. 4th liner at best, and in this team with this depth, that's even a stretch. 25pts in 40 games just doesn't cut it.

Great draft pick. We've been spoiled with Gs compared to other O teams since late 90s

Julien did play with Max McCue and Gazizov for most of the season and playoffs last year, he is having some difficulties this season finding his groove. We should not worry about him, he will get there, and the team is doing fine. He is doing the many important things on the ice, unnoticed by many, that Dale requires of him.

We watch the game differently obviously.
He fills a role on the squad and DH obviously disagrees with you he is a 4th liner at best.
Players don't get PT with the Knights for multi years if they don't want to be there, try or put forth an effort lol
He does lead, he does what is asked by the staff. Filling a different role than you want from on OA.
Who gives a F if he is an OA or not, gets a PPG ir not ect..... You construct a TEAM and the LK decided he belongs.

And maybe, just maybe, just maybe they have asked him to focus on different areas of the game than last year when he scored more ppg to help the collective It's obvious.

Among the main faceoff guys (400+) Julian led the team in faceoff % last season (56%) as well as attempts (1039). Prorated for this season(235+) he's second (54.9%) O'Reilly is first at 57.8% Nobody else over 100 attempts is over 50%

If you don't think that's valuable then I honestly don't know what to say.

Cover looked like a rookie out there and that’s okay. He will get bigger and stronger. I am excited to see him and Hawery next year take big steps.

Let’s hope Mews can get healthy.

Great win tonight. Team played well, but a lot of defensive mistakes early on.
