London Knights 2024-25 Season Thread, Part IV

Some kinks to work out but Barkey has been excellent for a while now. Montgomery is a treat to watch. Cam - great pick up.

Impressive maneuvering by DeGray getting Zurawski. Attack have a number of interesting young pieces and a first class goaltender.

I agree that Mark is a great broadcaster. I don’t mind TSN though. Light years ahead of sportsnet.

32-6-1. And with lots of room to improve.

There was a bit of a hangover after the Windsor game last night and the quick 4-0 lead caused the team to engage cruise control. A lesson learned. In junior hockey you can never let up. Cudos to Owen Sound for the comeback and a good third period sealed the win.

Lucky to pull that game out with all the momentum swinging in the Attack's favour in the second and early third. Like the broadcaster said, you can win these types of games against a bottom feeder team when you only play for 30 minutes. If they have a 2nd period like that against a top team, they'll surely take an L.

Montgomerys skating is light-years better then it was when he first came to the Knights. Coming to the Knights is the best thing he could have done for his career. It just proves the old saying iron sharpens iron....he's an absolute pleasure to watch.
His skating was always there, just needed a half dozen games of adjustment and to learn this team and league

Mr Barkey is having hisself a season. Whew!

Elliot, Montgomery, Fimis, Allen. Damn Mark Hunter is good.

Looking forward to Halts lighting it up again. Since he came back he is establishing his 200 foot game and getting physical. The goals will start to come.

So many weapons through the lineup..Really, really liking this team.

Absolutely correct Fastpace.
Mark's eye for talent is paying off big with attracting Montgomery to London.
He's not only fast North to South but his agility with quick turns with the puck has been impressive.
Fastpace, very nice to see you're back on HFB!!
Your insights are appreciated here.

Thank You zman77. I am appreciative of your interest

I will continue to defend any junior player from any team against public humiliation and demonization via social media.

I understand Montgomery came to London because of the changes at the NCAA but wanted to go to school next year. If he keeps this play up Ottawa may have something to say about the school route. He is likely playing into their plans and may get a good contact offer this year.

I think it would still make sense for Monty to get a year of NCAA hockey in to help him adjust up the levels before signing a contract.
Sens have a gem, it would be foolish to rush his development for no reason

This team is crazy! 32 wins(amazing), but Cowan, Halttunnen, Nurmi, Julien all haven’t hit their stride yet!

Agreed 100%. Constructive comments are welcome but tearing down young men trying their best is the practice of a very small person.

He might be talking chemistry with his new line mates. Barkey and Easton have amazing chemistry. He needs to get acquainted with Halts and Julien that’s all. They have only been together 2 games. They will ramp up with some practice and upcoming games. They go north I think soon and that is usually a bonding trip. I think they play Barrie, Sudbury, North Bay and the Sault but don’t quote me on that.

NHL. Returnees are also given some assignments to work on, that will help them at the next level. This could explain some of their changes in junior plays, there are so many things to do beside scoring goals in hockey

Cowan has 30pts in 22 games and has a point in 58 straight games. What more do you want from him?
I think we can see Easton take over games. He’s been a good consistent contributor, but don’t forget this is a player who was the most outstanding player in the OHL last season

Guelph and Sudbury this week. Can’t take either team lightly!

I’m guessing Read, Boulton and Hawery are gonna be on the outside looking in to get in the lineup. Same with Fagen and Spencer

I do believe that Hawery has been sent down to Junior B in St Thomas to finish his season there. He will be able to return after they are ousted.

Sounds good. Top line minutes. I’m sure he will continue to have success there. I guess it’s a matter of if he’s on the Knights he’s only getting minimal mins
