London Knights 2024-25 Season Thread, Part IV

Rosters in the O set barring any1 on the 50 player protected list joining as a FA pre (Feb 15? Or whatever)
2nd half of the season always paints a clearer picture of who the contenders are.
I like Londons chances to get thru the West but nothing is gauranteed.
Enjoy the ride all, starting tonight.

The only time Dickinson and Bonk can be together on the back end is on the powerplay. The first 17 minutes where they were paired up in the first was AWFUL.

Windsor playing well.
LK with too many casual unforced TOs.
Cowan quiet.
Need a spark. No consistent OZone pressure as Windsor getting to pucks and clearing the zone.
Need a couple shifts where they hemm the Spits in their zone.

Sorry hard to see posts the same way after the new look.

Here’s a question and probably a hard one.

Once playoffs come around, who would everyone start in goal come playoffs??

Alexei Medvedev or Austin Elliott? I have my hunch, but I would like to hear everyone’s opinion…

Tell me, I'll tell you lol.
I'd do the same thing they are now until there is a reason not too ( see 2005 )
It's a great spot to be in.

After the first LK just increasingly took control of the game.
You could see the tide shifting after a solid 1st by Spits.
The legendary post game would reference.........aagghh I better not lol.
Shut down their O to the tune of 1 PP G.
Good goaltending performance til the team settled down and stopped the terrible non pressure TOs in their own end in the 1st.

BMo quickly becoming my favourite Knight!
Glad to see Dale kept that Montgomery-O'Reilly-Barkey line together after the WJC players returned, great chemistry.
Agree the Team Canada trio all had a slow first 2 periods, but picked it up in the third. Big win over the team tied with them for first!
And Elliott gets the start in game 1. After that, who knows? OMG67 has him losing all his starts! :DD

5-1 Knights final (OR, 5-2 for Windsor fans....they count goalposts).
Overall, I wasn't impressed with the Knights play. The world junior players need to readjust to OHL hockey. Saved by Meds, and a quick strike offence.
Montgomery was the best player on the ice....that top line was good. I like the matchup vs the Spits number one line.
Did you know that 2 players on the Spits (Protas and Greentree) account for over 30% of Windsor's goals on the season?
At some point, you know that Windsor's D will let them down (e.g. Hicks, Woodall). And, that's one important difference between these two teams.
Knights 40 out of 65 on faceoffs.
Windsor 4 PPs to London's 3.

I agree, Dale has really found something with that line. Both Montgomery and O’Reilly have found another level and elevated their games out there with Barkey.

Cowan will have to find some chemistry with other players, because that looks like it should be the top line for now.

Van Gorp’s effort on every shift is incredible. I think he should be moved up to the main checking line with Sim… he has earned more Minutes.

Goaltending situation just keeps getting better and better.

Cowan/Montgomery stats:

Cowan: GP 21 G 15 A 14, PTS 29
Montgomery: GP 22 G 15 A 15, PTS 30

Almost identical numbers.
I should also mention that's 57 consecutive games now for Cowan with a point.
