London Knights 2024-25 Season Thread, Part IV

Knights have a top 9 of Cowan, Barkey, Montgomery, Haltunnen, O'Reilly, Nicholl, Nurmi, Sim and Julien. With a surplus of very capable players on the 4th line. No moves needed there.
If anything, a solid 18-19 y.o LH d-man to play with Hank B. on the 3rd pairing is all I would like to see added. The Roberts and Kennedy trades have shown those won't come cheap though. Maybe offer up someone like Read and a pick or 2 for a guy like Bronson Ride?
I wouldn’t get hung up on lefty righty. There are already 6 qualified OHL defenders with 2 in reserves (Fagan, Spencer). Seems set to me.

Knights have released or waived import Gleb Semenov and he is joining the Red Deer Rebels of the WHL.

Releasing him will help us get more top end import picks for the upcoming Import Draft.

Pretty quiet deadline day all around… deadline was noon, there are a bunch of players who were talked about being moved, who haven’t currently been moved. Will we see a rush of deals come in late?

Will one of them be London or did Mark not do anything today?

Just saw Mark pound back some brews at Wortley Roadhouse and then help an old lady cross the street in the snow. Busy day!

I like our team and am glad Mark did not mortgage the future for one addition. I think having the young players like Bidgood, Hawery, Read, Fagan etc. around the team throughout (hopefully) a long playoff can be a huge learning experience for the future. They have all proven they can also be relied upon in the event of injuries or suspension.

Should be a good game tonight. Will be interesting to see if London can shut down Windsor's high powered offence. What might be more revealing is whether Windsor can shut down ours which has been pretty high octane of late even without the five WJ players

Looking forward to tonight's game. The Spits managed to get a split last time out vs our depth players, but I'm expecting to see that last loss avenged in a most decisive fashion. Still waiting to see if Windsor has improved defensively

Interesting move. He will get a ton of ice in St T though. Other players have flourished in the GOJHL and then came to the OHL and were/are great players.

Last minute free agent or anything like that?!
Can we stop with the begging to add new players now that the deadline is over? Enjoy the rest of the season with the team we have.

I'm glad Mark didn't listen to the expert GMs in this thread and stood pat with what they have. This is a team that can win it all.....enjoy the ride folks!
Oh he tried McCue was sent to Flint to slight London. Player wanted London but Attack gm ask was way to much. It is what it is Guelph wanted Hawery and Mark said nope. Will be fun to see how they do in the second half if we learned anything Mark Hunter can build a team with almost anything

This move will force Mews to find a new team to play for. I assume the Hunters figured that all out before sending Hawery down.
