Here before this comment gets deleted/edited by mods LOL

I have some ways to describe Cameron that I can’t unfortunately put on this site.

What a disappointing tournament for Canada. After that big Finland game I thought they might’ve made it all the way to the finals against the US(but would’ve lost) went downhill from there
LOL. I edited the comment. ;)

Just disappointed in the passive play in all zones and not taking the best players available. The game has changed but Dave thinks it’s 2004. You can’t tell me his “system” didn’t screw some of these kids’ games up.

It’s in the past. A meaningless tournament and it’s nice to see arrogant hockey canada humbled every now and then.

Maybe next year approach the tournament the way some other countries do. Name your team, show up and play. Cut back on the camp and cuts and reduce what could be a potential 4 week grind down to 3.

Tough spot for all the boys on Team Canada as the expectations placed on them is “Gold” or it’s a complete failure. Not sure I’ve seen a team so consistently being “snake bitten” for so many games in a row as this team? A bounce or two our way would have been welcomed.
Anyway welcome back to our 3 Team Canada players. Hopefully they get a bit of a rest before suiting up for the Knights as we are hoping for a long and successful season and playoffs ahead!

Sometimes it just doesn’t work out. Hope for the kids’ sake, the world junior hangover is limited. They’re still good players.
Easton looked pretty shook about the whole thing but agreed hopefully they have a few beers together tonite, blow off some steam and move on. All 3 Knights are elite players and no one can suggest they didn’t belong on the team!!
Canadian dominance is no longer the reality. Like most leagues around the world the IIHF has effectively removed body contact from the game and traditionally this is where we Canadians realized our greatest advantage. Quite frankly the tournament is rapidly loosing its appeal for me. Not really a tournament of the Best vs. Best when Russia isn’t included?

Ok now we can consummate part 2 of the Guelph Deal (All hypothetical of course)
Julien to anyone for a pick or two.
Luchanko for VanGorp, Bidgood, Gerber and 2 picks
Lines would look like this
Cowan-Luchanko-Barkey
Haltsy-O'Reilly-Montgomery
Nicholl-Sim-Nurmi
Aboflan/Boulton-Hawery-VanBommel/Read

Dickenson-Bruiser
Bonk-Allen
Wooley-Fimis
Fagan-Spencer

No more trades Luchanko is not worth young players.
He was Invisible during the tournament and that is why his ice time was reduced as it went on. The deal may have been in place before the WJT started but if not not worth more than 2-3 players with picks also coming back with him.

In what universe do you get Jett Luchanko for 1 decent player, 2 junior B guys, and two draft picks????

I’m a Knights fan and that trade is a disgrace tor both teams. Guelph should just hold onto him or try to trade him to other teams just to spite London if that was the offer.

Remember George Burnett only trades with a division rival if it makes his team better.

Right now a trade like this is feasible.

London: Jett Luchanko

Guelph: Evan Van Gorp, Noah Read, Cohen Bidgood (rights to Gleb Semenov) 1 second round pick, and 3 third round picks, and they get multiple 4th and 5th round picks if he returns next year.

If we can somehow hold onto Hawery and Van Gorp I’m all for it, because he would be good in our top 6 next year. But to get a good player you need to give up something good to get something good.

After doing some research 30 of Jett’s 74 points came on the power play. That’s a cool but also concerning. But with the stacked roster we have, he should have enough space to create with his vision to produce 5 on 5.

Looking forward to this addition if it comes to fruition.

Just thinking of some ideas of a different avenue to go for an upgrade to our forward group, would someone like Ottawa be selling? They are a .500 team and currently 8th seed. If Ottawa chose to sell, I would be interested in Pinelli, I don't think the cost to acquire would be as high as Luchanko but still would be a significant ask. But maybe you can get him without Hawery, because he is an 05 and very unlikely to return next year.

I have also always liked the game Brady Stonehouse plays, wouldn't mind flipping him and Julian as part of the deal.

Musty is the better option. You have enough centers…

Pinelli is definitely gone but it sounds like Barrie is a heavy favourite with the rumours saying it's Vaughan going the other way, I can't imagine London out bids Barrie without Hawery.

Fair enough, if that's the case and London had to give up Hawery to improve this year. I would rather go after a guy who could potentially come back next year.

Luchanko may be back next year.

Tough to say but I’d say this tournament didn’t do him a lot of favours in that regard. Expected big things from him and he was disappointing. Think more teams may get in on Luchanko now. If I’m Kingston Luchanko is the only player I would trade Hopkins for.

Don't blame the refs. Don't blame the players. Blame the worst coaching staff ever assembled. Cameron and Lazary should never represent Canada ever again. Especially Cameron. Threw his team under the bus. Didn't take any responsibility. Didn't even have them practice FFS. He should be 'tried' for treason.
Lazary was outcoached by Hunter last year in every game. Saginaw only won the final because of a bad clear and bad bounce. Lazary was on his way to losing another game to Hunter.

Why isn't the winningest active coach in CHL coaching Team Canada? Did it once and won gold.

How do you not practice as a team? These are teenagers, they recover quickly so being tired is an excuse. You can't put kids together from across the country and expect them to play as a team without practice. Cameron clearly threw in the towel after the Latvia game and gave up on the team.

OK, back to Knights business. No trades needed. This team is fine.
