I'm still wondering abut Bidgood card status. Looking at the official lineup cards on the OHL website, I see that under the "Contract" column he's listed as "FA" for the first 10 games (sept 27 - Oct 25). Not sure what "FA" stands for? Normally I'd guess "Free Agent", but not sure that applies here.

Then on October 26th, the FA is gone and he's listed just like every other player with a blank "Contract" column. He doesn't play the 27th or Nov 1st, but then slots back in on the 3rd, 6th and 8th all without the "FA".

Then on November 10th, he's listed as a "Substitute" player but still no "FA". He then doesn't play at all until last night (Dec 18th) where he's again listed as a "Substitute" player but also has a "RES" next to his name (not sure what that stands for). Also, the "FA" is now back under the "Contract" column.

Anyway, I'm not an expert on OHL cards. But something is up there. No other player on the team is handled like this. Makes me wonder if perhaps he is not on an A card.

Interesting, good catch.

The only one of those I can answer definitively is the "Res" that mean reserve, so he dressed as the 19th player for warmups but was scratched after warmups. But could have slotted in the lineup, had someone else been injured during warmup.

Looking at the Erie lineup card last night, D'Alessio & Willis were both listed with that same FA designation under contract. Both D players, which would make sense with Schaefer being away, they can dress them using the WJ bonus games.

Ok interesting. So they warmed up 19 forwards just in case, but he didn't actually play. That's the whole "RES" thing? Neat. Never noticed that one before. Thanks for the education.

But this still doesn't explain why the "FA" is back or being listed as a "? Substitute". Again, not an expert here, but it seems unlikely you'd be putting all these qualifiers on him on the line up card if he's a full fledged A card.

I'm going to wait until trade deadline to see if they make a move or have a card left lol. Too much speculation on both sides. Maybe the league likes it's fans not knowing? Sure causes a convo on a few teams boards every year :)
Carry on.

Yeah, I agree. I have never noticed the FA before. But, as you say, it would make total sense he isn't on a full A card if they are putting a designation on the score sheet. Even if we as fans don't know fully what that designation means.

I don't know how to add a poll or else I would. Knights fans, if they have enough cards to make it happen, who would you rather have. Luchenko for 1/2 year (maybe 1 1/2) or Hawery for 3?
My vote would be Hawery, unless they somehow knew Jett would be back, which of course they don't. So Hawery.
Only way I would trade Hawery is if it was Smith and George from OS, which is virtually impossible for a variety of reasons.
We don’t need George. Our goaltending has been awesome. I like the idea of getting Jett or Musty Everyone though says it will take Hawlery Do we really have any idea how he will turn out next year ?? What do you posters see. What do other teams see that they would give up a star player for him ? Not being sarcastic here but just want to know the thoughts out there

From my eye test Hawery is the real deal. By this point in the season the Testas’ Rolofs etc were clearly struggling, Hawery in contrast is getting stronger. He is winning battles, laying checks and making plays that are getting him on the scoresheet. He hasn’t been a defensive liability and can keep up with the speed at the OHL level. To me he looks like Evangilista and we know how he turned out.

No rental is worth Hawery.
