Just goes to show you can’t take a night off in this league. And that’s good. Means the league is healthy.

Defence and forwards worried too much about offence. Leaving gaps in the d zone. Hawery took a bad read on Sarnia’s second goal as the D were gone. No big deal, very teachable.

Montgomery is raw but will do just fine in this league.

Brzustewicz with a couple bad defensive reads. Again, only 17. Takes time.

To be blunt, Spencer is not OHL caliber.

I love how this org operates. Great seeing a player like Nicholl growing, getting more confidence, and having success to the point where he’s a key player at 18. He does so many little things well. Just takes time to develop.

Julien showing life. Barkey best game of the year.

Nicholl has truly been a bright spot this year. He’s a key piece I agree. His skating ability is such an asset

This team is absolutely loaded now. This will be a boost to the PP. They will need to move some bodies out for sure! This could push someone like Nurmi or Sim to the 4th line when they have a full lineup.
Nurmi plays with Halttunen first to see how they do.

Nurmi had his best game last night on that line with Montgomery.

Loved the offensive zone pick offs and physical play by Hawery.

Brzustewicz coughed up a few bad ones, but is showing that he looks more and more like a future NHL defensemen every day.

One of these nights everything will click, not rolling smoothly yet.

That’s the scary good/bad thing. We have 10 wins in a row and more left to give. The biggest question mark is will it all click? Is our goaltending good enough to steal us games and is the 3rd pair D sufficient for a championship team? Lots of time to sort it all out

So the locks for WJC are:

Canada
Cowan, Bonk, Dickinson
Probably: Barkey
Long shot: O’Reilly

Suomi (Finland):
Halttunen, Nurmi

I dont see Barkey making Team Canada. Yes he was last cut last year but others have progressed ahead of him and he still isn't back to 100%.

Spencer is the same age as Woolley and Dickinson. Unfair to compare players at this level but I’d expect more, at this time, from an 06. Maybe he can improve under Hunter watch. I dunno.

During WJC we will see Spencer and Mitchell get ice time and see what they got

hard to see, but he is a very versatile player. I’d be interested what the team Canada brass will be looking for

Assuming that Nurmi, Halttunen, Cowan, Bonk, Dickinson, and probably Barkey are gone, here is a look at our lineup.

Montgomery - O’Rielly - Julien
Van Gorp - Nicholl - Sim
Read - Hawery - Arrowsmith
Boulton - Van Bommel - Bidgood

Scratches- Aboflan, Gerber

Woolley - Brzustewicz
Jenken - Fagan
Spencer - Mitchell

Medvedev
Elliott
