No surprise the lines are all new for tonight… wasn’t much chemistry.
Hopefully they mesh a little better tonight.

I kind of like that 2nd line. Especially if Crane and McCue play with as much jump as they had last night.

O’Reilly with the promo. He deserves it. He’s always creating.

Yup, no surprise there. Hunter rewarding contributors, in this case O'Reilly. And, adjusting the lines to generate more chemistry, offence. Now's the time to experiment, tinker.

Simpson looked great. I really like Halttunen's game, not just a sniper with that heavy shot, also playmaking ability. Remember that no look, thread the needle, backhand pass to Bonk? I expected a better effort on opening "k" night but realise these early games still have the feel of pre-season.
If you were looking for only offensive effort, I guess there were not a whole lot but enough pucks did go in to win the game. I was looking for defensive effort out of the Knights last night and they came through. Only one goal went in and yet we are reading about that one error for the whole game that cost one goal. How many do realise offence comes from defensive plays? Even through out the first period when Niagara were pushing hard London were skating right with them matching with defensive efforts. I was very happy with what I saw out of London Last night, if they play like this all season there won't be any problem for this team to score enough goals to win hockey games. IMHO Cheers!

I didn't like to see 20 shots given up in the first period, but as I mentioned, Simpson stood tall. Moving forward, the defence is the least of my concerns: Bonk, George, Dickinson, Edward, Bruz, McKinnon, Leonard. An embarrassment of riches.
This team, I think, will resemble the 2016 team insofar as we'll likely rely on 2 scoring lines once Hunter makes more deals down the road--and they'll receive the bulk of the minutes. At least that's what I'm anticipating. By comparison, last year's team was fun to watch as the scoring was spread out.

I'll be really disappointed if Mark and Dale turns this team into a two line offence team. It's a team game, team defense brings team offence resulting team wins, it includes all payers playing each of their roles. Top six Os and top four Ds plays more minutes that is expected for older and for more talented players but the whole team has a jobs to do according to their assignments. I hope they don't play too much with his team lineup or we'll be like the Spits of a year ago.

I expected a big push early.
And I agree, the heavy lifting up front will come from a group of 6/7 once the roster settles. ( and the D )
I agree with FP in terms of contributing but that doesn't always mean on the score sheet. They will need to lean on the top Fs to score n the rest to defend and "set the tone".

Lots of ways to build a winner, and we all have our fav type teams, but unless they add 3 Fs this team will be top heavy up front with scoring.
They have won with 4 deep lines, a great G, a top heavy F group........
Ya gotta adjust to the roster you have and play it accordingly.
