Lomberg absolutely dusts Bastian.

This isn’t MMA, hockey fights don’t usually involve a guy going totally lights-out. Bastian was visibly dazed after the first shot or two. Just because he didn’t buckle, doesn’t mean his eggs weren’t scrambled.

Now we know his jaw was broken by one of those shots, which is probably about the time his brain switched off.
Yeah, I'm guessing it was one of the first ones since he never tried to protect himself. Even as a Flames fan, when I was watching I didn't like how the linesmen weren't coming in sooner.

Still love the Lomberghini, and will always root for him to do well.
But, I’m sure it took like one or two shifts before the Calgary fans were loving the Lomberg.
I went to four different away Panthers games a few seasons back in Canada/Buffalo and I'm pretty sure the loud, raucous fanclub was at every game behind the Panthers' bench or by the tunnel. They kind of stood out because they looked like an outlaw biker gang in Panthers and Lomberg merch haha. There were probably at least 20 of them each time.

Poor Bastian clearly had his jaw broken on the first or second shot and was just stunned from there on out. I can’t believe he didn’t go down afterwards.

Hope he can recover quickly, he’s unfortunately been injury prone the past couple of seasons.

The shirtless interview should become a thing. Just hilarious having two dudes in suits not acknowledging it. Also, dudes got guns, I am shamed into a gym visit later.

After weeks of wondering if Lomberg even owned a shirt post-cup, I was worried that the colder climes of Calgary would force him to finally buy one and maybe [gasp] invest in plaid... I'm glad that my worries have been proved unfounded based on that interview. As a straight woman, this and his flowing locks is how you grow the game.

I've been watching Rangers, devils and islanders games for decades and lived in NYC, Long Island and Jersey during those years. I post about the devils because they're a shitshow organization that's wildly dysfuntional and has wasted so many top picks. And of course the uber-sensitive devils fans are chef's kiss.
I think you might be just a tad bit jealous of the cups that the Devs have won. The definition of dysfunctional is a team winning only 1 cup in the last 84 years.

One of them needed to make the call to come in. The one who had the angle of bastian not putting his right hand up needed to signal to the other linesman to come in.

Saw it again, no clue what #90 was doing as he was right there when the bombs were landing uncontested. Even the other linesman had a good view of it too and didn’t jump in quicker.

Unfortunately I think the mandate is to not break it up unless they can do so without risking injury to themselves.
