Sweetie, that's just common sense. They know Comrie is shit, they shouldn't go after him time and time again. The same applies to Stanley too - a decent track record of being useless at the NHL level, yet they're still throwing more good money after bad money here.

by the time we sign the rest we won’t even have much cap space left lol here I was thinking we’d be in a good spot for a mid-season/trade deadline acquisition.
Maybe the play is this: if you have a couple mil to spare, try to get Perfetti long term rather than bridge. Worked well when they did that with Scheifele just around this time when it seemed like he was one season away from really taking off

they are also counting players like jad, ajf, shaw, fluery, comrie towards the cap as well, so taking all those contracts off the books we still have close to 8.1 million in cap space
