Logan Couture set to announce his career is over due to injuries

Bad title. He can’t continue to play thus end his career on ltir. Seen plenty of these around.

Celebrini new captain?
Toffoli, Goodrow, and Ferraro all wore A's this year. They're all still under contract, so I'd imagine they keep those three, add Celebrini as a fourth A, and split them in half for Home/Away games.

Probably an LtIR situation like price
That is why I criticized the title. "Retirement" means walking away from the money, ala Luongo. Couture's playing days are done as he can't physically return to play. But, he will spend the remaining duration of his contract on ltir and collect the remainder of his contract. Plenty others have done the same thing, Seabrook, Price, Weber, Little, etc.

Could be, but I could equally see them just give it to Toff, or Ferraro if they re-sign him, for let's call it 2 more years until Celebrini is signed on his first big deal and has clearly established himself / can really step into the role. Seems like a lot to ask of a 19yo when we have some solid vets around.

I wouldn't be shocked (but I would be disappointed) if they straight up gave it to Goodrow.
