To be honest...

Do you really believe a coaching change would have any impact on the outcomes when we have 4 forwards at 11AAV+ next year?

Whats gonna push Marner to effing take the hit to make the play; or engage in board battles; lay a body or go to the net and no play perimeter hockey?

Tavares isn't getting any faster; dude is too slow to keep up with NHL speed IMO

Rielly's speed wasn't as good this season; and I am afraid he is probably not getting it back
Keefe and those four forwards have all been here for the biggest success and the majority of the failures. The impact felt by any change made involving the coach and/or any of the players in question is a matter of one's opinion regarding who is to credit for the solitary positive or blame for the shortcomings. Is there anything to be said about the underwhelming production for that trio of players during these playoffs in particular?

Keefe will be the sacrificial lamb so the rest of the suits can continue milking this org. That was the point of the extension, so he wouldn't rock the boat on the way out. Shanahan was never at risk and probably will never be. Remember, Dubas would still be here if he played ball and kept his head down in the trough.

I doubt very much you will get any answers you are looking for on Friday. They will say they are going to have hard conversations regarding the future and that not much can be said at this time.

It will be interesting to see how they answer the Marner question though or anyone on the core 4. They may play it neutral and state that they are going to honor all contracts signed. But that doesn't mean that they still wont be discussing possibilities with Marner.

It's been so long, I miss the days when the off-season consisted of an early exit or missed playoffs, extending the time frame of who should be fired, traded, signed and brought in.

If there's anything fun that'll come of this, it's the constant news and reports on a daily basis.

That is, of course, that changes are made. I'd love a hard reset and we then debate who the coach should be and player(s) that need to be traded.

Pelley might just be an older, more mature version of Dubas. Looks the part and knows exactly what to say to those old farts on the MLSE Board. He knows hockey! if he doesn't do something almost immediately, I will lose confidence in his ability to make the proper changes in the future. My concern would be, does he really care about winning the Cup or just padding his bank account with what might be the cushiest job in the country? I am hopeful for the former.

Something to keep in mind regarding Pelley is don’t let what the guys in the media say about him change your opinion. He was the head guy at Sportsnet so he was the boss of most of the media personalities. Damien Cox has turned into a big homer full of excuses for everyone and has said Pelley is a good personal friend. Other Sportsnet radio hosts have gushed how they know Pelley well and he’s a buddy. So beware of how the media presents him

Interesting! Don't wanna think that the only reason he was hired was to get great press reports for the company.

What case are you resting ?

Why do you think you're entitled to know what illness he had? You've already made up your mind that he should have played.

You're coddling him....

You realize that right?

You don't care to know what injury your 13mill/yr player had that kept him out, while other players are ready to put their bodies on the line to play in the playoffs...

I had time to reflect on Keefe vs Montgomery

Bruins could sweep us in 4 games. But Montgomery wanted to rotate goalies. It backfired and we went 7 games. After making Ullmark choice costing them a game, he goes to the media after game 6 and calls out Pasta.

Montgomery should be buying Pasta dinner till the end of his life. They almost lost a series they could win in 4 (not saying they would, but they definitely could).

I not going to knock Marner over his interview , i knew what he meant even though he didn't articulate it well .

Marner's biggest problem is he takes it too personally , he feels he needs to deliver every night and when things don't go his way it starts to snowball , being saddled with JT to try to make his corpse useful didn't help .
I'm not buying that jt stuff cause he's supposed to be the superior player to nylander and marner and jt never really had any stretch of productive 🏒 while nylander had jt looking like a number 1 center for a spell

People will interpret it how they want just like all Marner quotes... he isn't well-spoken in this regard.

It is like how people have declared Nylander the new king of the Leafs and have ignored that he said the team was "right there" and then when someone else says it they lose it.

All these guys want to win, they all feel the pressure, they all know they are failing.
We're the better team with a full roster but it's the playoffs and sometimes you don't have a full roster

Again, Marner’s comments were so immature… Really disliked the “we’re like Gods here” and “we’re good players” comments. Sure you’re good players but you played like complete shit, own up to it.

On the other hand if Keefe had a healthy Nylander and Matthews for the whole series we likely win it.

I think it went to show that when asked about it his unchecked response went to how they (he) are treated and not looking at all about the opposite way that it's an honor and responsibility to the organization, fanbase and city to play for the TML.

I couldn't care less about his choice of words , he's not wrong on that. I know these guys are heavily coached for talking to the media but when he goes off script a bit it always seems to come down to how he is treated and not their job they're supposed to do.

Think that's telling TBH

Said it yesterday, and I'll say it again today - if you take issue with Marner praising fans (which is exactly what he was doing in that comment), you have an unhealthy hate boner.
