Post-Game Talk: Literally shooting yourself in the foot

Skinners "awwshucks, well get better" and his general spoken narrative is consistent with somebody that thinks they are Alice in Wonderland forever.

Oh look Dorothy, now we're back in the AHL and we suck. Thats your future Skinner. Beyond that bagging groceries.

it really does seem from his words that Skinner figures theres just an endless supply of playoff seasons, regular seasons and plenty of time to get it right. This is his competitive fire. "we'll get better next time"

All the intensity of somebody playing Cribbage at the cabin. I'll play better cards next time, you'll see"
The guy exudes zero confidence or fire. None. On the ice and off.

See shuks I gave the boys a chance. If Pickard's out longterm just destroy this sieve and make sure he isn't here next year

Our management probably wants to keep him lol

no it wouldn't have, you're assuming the Vegas player has time to put his stick on the ice and tap it in under 0.3 seconds for some reason
I'm saying yes, in hindsight Draisatl should have let the puck go through the unmanned crease to where Karlsson was being tied up, because there was only .3 seconds left on the clock and it would have ran out before he could have swiped it into the empty net anyway.

What I am also saying is that Draisatl had no idea how much time was left on the clock, all he saw was his goalie 15 feet out of position, and tried to block the pass to Karlsson who only had to get a stick on it to score an easy goal.

Vegas gets rewarded at least 2 games for purposely initiating numerous collisions with the Oilers defenseman (regardless of where's the puck) in Game 2. Then the Oilers get called for goalie interference a few times because the "NHL needs to protect the goaltenders "

I just don’t know how anyone can defend skinner at this point, his career numbers make Dan Cloutier look like a nhl starter.

I guess he’s still young enough where he could improve to still being the worst goalie in the league

Shame on Drai, he should have known that there was .4 seconds on the clock not 1.4 seconds

Unironically only Draisaitl had proper defensive coverage support. Embarrassing work by Nurse and McDavid. Kulak at end of a terrible shift where he creates the issue in the o-zone and then can't get position for weak side defending at the buzzer. The lumbering, immobile goaltender impulsively leaves his crease.

This was a complete team defending meltdown. The second time this playoff it's happened late in games. That's a coaching mistake. This game L was built on terrible Oilers decisions and consistently inconsistent sub-par goaltending their management group bet this run on.

so it would have been a goal either way. Not Stus fault the pass made it to the slot like it did.

Actually...somehow he didn't stop this bank pass off the side of the net.

Not an NHL goalie.

I'm afraid your sense of time/physics is out lunch here. The player on the other post is irrelevant. If Drai doesn't deflect it....it is NOT a goal.

This something a dip shit says. It doesn't matter if Stu makes the save or makes them earlier they win. If Pickard starts they win handily. Stu lost them the game again.

Yes, with the power of hindsight my sense of timing is off.

Do you think Draisatl knew at that very moment if he just lets the pass through to karlsson the clock would run out before he has time for an easy tap in in the unmanned net? Do you blame him for not knowing there was .4 seconds left on the clock not 2.4 seconds?

That’s fair but if Skinner doesn’t skate 15 feet wide of his net it’s not a goal either.

Even if Drai doesn’t put that in Skinner still turned a nothing scenario into a dangerous one.

Can you believe we have supposed fans trying to defend him at all for last night? And not only trying to defend him but shitting on the Hart trophy favorite who we are lucky enough to have on our team?

I mean I get that not everyone is born with a full deck, and maybe one or two of them took a puck to the head, but there are definitely some trollish "fans" in our midst.
On the Habs board we have a couple guys defending Patrik Laine to the death so it’s unfortunately a universal phenomenon

In the very least - Patrick Laine isn't playing the most important position on the ice. 😂

I also wouldn't be surprised if they literally aren't Habs fans but rather Finnish boosters. Maybe the same crew of guys who used to pump puljujarvi's tires all game every game.
