Post-Game Talk: Literally shooting yourself in the foot

The media likes Stu so he will always get somewhat of a break.
After thinking about it, an overtime win was probably unlikely given the mistakes we were seeing--- so chalk it up as "deserved loss" and move on. You know they will be better in game #4. If not then its not a championship team.
The series really comes down to the fragility of Pickard's "lower body"
They can't win with Skinner in net but the shocking part is that they didn't at least get someone who was capable at the AHL level. The team knew that Rodrigue wasn't doing too well in Bako. That left them at the mercy of the fortunes of a 32 year old journeyman goalie. As said by so many posters before--just plain stubborn--like taking grandpa to the dentist.
Something they can do is come up with a plan for the Powerplay. Its gone cold and we can't blame Stu for that.
Oilers win 5-2 on Monday night. Talk to you then.

I watched the replays again this morning
Sucks to say this but I do think I’m done watching this team if Stuart Skinner is in net. Not worth the torture. I hope Pickard is ready for next game, otherwise my playoff watching is probably over unless Skinner goes on some super human heater (bar is low for him) and we somehow pull together some wins with him.
Just have better things to do than watch this guy shit his pants after every game and support an org that decided he was our answer in net after such a large sample size to show he isn’t .

Knob needs to grow some balls and play the rookie. The story of the rookie going in and stealing games has been written many a time in playoffs past.
If it's not game 4 then they gotta go game 5 if Stu shits the bed again.
No way he should stay in the net if he goes 0-4 these playoffs and you have a healthy goalie sitting there ready to play.

I don't know if you can really play Rodrigue but I just don't want to see Stuart Skinner play another game for the Oilers.
I am a dyed in the wool habs fan but living in Edmonton I watch and cheer for the Oilers. I found myself disinterested in the team when it was clear that the plan was skinner in goal again for the playoffs.
Of all the terrible moves management has made since 2015, doubling and tripling down on skinner has had the most severe consequences.

One thing last night showed everyone: Skinner isn't going to come in and save the day or lead this team to a cup. Either this team wins with Pickard, or they're getting ready for next year. Simple as that.

At the end of the day, management is to blame. They have had long enough to upgrade the goaltending and chose not to.

This is Stuart Skinner and it’s as much to blame for his unpopularity in Edmonton as his consistently below NHL level of play. It’s also why his nick-name is “not my fault”, you’ll never see him take any accountability for his play instead you’ll hear in every interview how well he thought he played no matter what the result was.
Btw, it’s not Oilers fans who watch him game in and game out that are telling you he’s the best Canadian goalie.

We win with Pickard in net, easily. Skinner is completely done. If Pix is out again, we lose again. Like everyone else, I'd rather see Orod than Skinner in the net. At least he has some mobility
The only ones saying that are the Americans , thinking we will put him in net against them.

We just need to score 7 goals with Skinner in net.
Not sure how can the team playing in front of him can trust him after last night.

So it's the morning, I slept on it, and I'm still incredibly frustrated. I thought the Oilers, sincerely, dominated the game, but played like they had to protect an ebug, but without any of the joy of "look at this ebug succeed" of that.
