Sorry to chime in as a Leafs fan who cheers for Canadian teams this time of year but this was annoying to listen to. This guy doesn't even give any indication of accountability. Happy to insinuate/say he gave the team a chance to win, happy to blame bounces, not happy to say he needs to be better. I hope Pickard is healthy for you guys next game and I doubt I'll ever accept Skinner is the best Canadian goalie today no matter what anyone tells me.

I’m slowly calming down. End of the day we had just won six straight games, the signs were there last game that often appear when you are too pleased with your game, and tonight we got what we deserved. We weren’t going to sweep Vegas. Hopefully this wakes up Drai, Nurse and a few others and pisses them off enough to play like they can next game, and hopefully Pick is good to go for game 4. Still confident we can win this series (as long as Pick comes back).

I mean one goalie hasn't lost a game and one goalie hasn't won a game, and the one goalie who hasn't won a game has been outplayed by the opposing goalie in every single one of his games and basically has the worst stats of the entire playoffs, but somehow THAT goalie isn't at fault for the loss. Again, the only goalie who has actually lost games with this team in the entire playoffs.

well tbf with the Carter Hart situation the Canadian goalie situation looks disastrously bad right now with no truly elite NHL talent compared to the days of Brodeur and Luongo. Binnington came in clutch at 4 nations but people were pretty skeptical of him. Skinner was in that conversation for no other reason besides how thin Canada is in goal right now. Now I think I'd put Montembault/Thompson/Hill in there as a potential choice instead

That had to be one of the worst games I've ever seen him play.

Although honestly I don't care what Skinner says before/after a game. All I care about is if he can make the saves that matter. He clearly can't. How the hell do you get caught swimming like that with a second left in the game.

Who would have thought it was possible that Skinner, who was already one of the worst playoff goalies of all time, could somehow find new lows.

Drai's lane to cut off Karlsson in the NZ is a highlight on that play, too. Could've easily cut him off if he didn't try to skate right at him. Another comeback game in these playoffs where the stars get caught late being too aggressive.

Suggesting that Drai is only on for two against glosses over the horrific puck clear and line change that was immediately preceeded the odd man rush that leads to Vegas' third goal. No minus for Draisaitl, but he dawdles to the bench while Vegas counters with numbers.

Our fans have a tendency to beat the same drum when bad things happen. It's possible for multiple things to be a reason why these things occur.

Should the goalie stop pucks? Yeah. But we can also not make dumb plays in the neutral zone and not force bad passes in times where a simple dump will suffice.

Leon’s lazy change was a lot of that 3rd goal. Again, should have been saved, but I almost knew we were cooked when I saw him kind of peek up ice then dog it even after they got the puck. Almost forgot about that after the disaster at the end.

Draisaitl had an awful game and was victimized by unfortunate luck at the end. He is still one of the best hockey players in the world, these games happen. I am more concerned with his loose play, turnovers. Not like him, he needs to get more focused.

Skinner on the other hand, geez. Actually I can’t be mad at him. He sucks, it is what it is. To get mad at him because he sucks is stupid, it’s the fault of the people that put him in the net.
