Post-Game Talk: Literally shooting yourself in the foot

Isn't that this dickwads move? Just flop down? Mr 9.25US, aka 12.9 MILLION CDN PER YEAR for being a REJECT on D
Ugh like really need to get rid of Nurse. If its a situation where McDavid says no then we need the "Nurse on the team" crowd of players to literally GTFO.
I hate Nurse more than Skinner but I think Skinner is a comedy show whereas Nurse is such a fraud and this line on his wiki page stands out to me: "His father was worried that [Darnell] Nurse would suffer an injury playing football, while he was, in his own words, "just no good" at basketball."
So the only thing that matters to this plug is that he "made it" to the NHL and got that $$$$ there is nothing else he loves more than money and stealing others spotlight (especially McDavids lol)

We were in complete control thirteen minutes, and then Draisaitl makes a lazy careless giveaway. But the defenseman makes a great play and it’s snuffed. Danger over. But then Hague takes a shot from the corner that hits Skinner in the chest and you think he’ll just swallow it with his body. But he inexplicably flops down and rolls over and it’s an easy goal. We weren’t the same after that.
Yup. Nurse played the 2 on 1 perfectly, and then Skinner for some unexplainable reason catches the puck between his blocker and his shoulder, thinks he doesn't have it and decides to flop onto his ass thinking it fell behind him (he even swipes his glove behind his ass like he's wiping it after his 5th donair of the night, maybe he thought he was pissing out of his ass?), and he drops it on a golden platter for Roy to tap in.

In all honestly, all of these idiots were at fault. Skinner is pure trash. Our big boys lazy on D for most of the night. Drai is Goat #1. They never give 2 fuks when they are up. Just red carpet goals against or chances against. Skinner is a pure sieve, so you need to be careful

Lol, not arguing with anyone tonight. Skinner with a solid .833% save percentage. Hopefully this will be the last game he’s a starter for the Oilers. If McDrai never win a cup, it’s 100% on goaltending. Anyone who can’t see that is f***ing blind.

Guy was literally in the middle of the corner and his crease on the Game winner. Completely f***ing lost.
Skinner is done. He can’t stay in the net. If Pickard can’t go next one, they better let Rodrigue get his chance or this series will get swept away….🤷‍♂️

That was a terrible goal. He’s gotta have that rebound. Turned the game around for them. Dissapointed with the teams lack of response after Vegas tied it though. I think we had like 4 shots in the next 20 minutes of play after they tied it.

Fair enough they definitely went flat after that. Do I really blame them though after seeing this story what 50-100 times by now with Skinner in net? Not really.

It's nice that Dubnyk thinks the same about those goals as I do.

Was beginning to think maybe I'm just a generational hater, but like... Nope. All three of those goals are mighty stoppable.

Well, let’s be honest here, what does a Vezina-nominated goaltender know about the position that he played at an elite level?

We’re all just irrational haters picking on a guy who is the victim of a team that seems to only be capable of losing a playoff game when he’s in net.

Oh yeah? Tell me how the final goal was all Skinner's fault?
I happen to think he sucks and was a complete goof on the first goal but please tell me how I'm blind for seeing that the final goal was a total team failure?
That rebound control was not good. I would have done better in a karate uniform….

Skinner -1.61 GSAE. Absolutely LOST in net so many times, including that last goal. Why in gods name was he 10 feet out of his net? At one point he had completely turned his back on the play and had to dive to save a wrap around because he was so far out of position. The first goal he had NO IDEA where the puck was, when it was right in front of him, he falls backwards, and Vegas has an easy goal.

He has no situational awareness whatsoever
Biggest fukin TURD known to man

WTF is he doing on that bad angle shot? looks like a REJECT. JUst falls on his ass lol

Where is Crott? He likes licking this guys bumhole.

No, but it wasn't because of Nurse. It was because the second player missed the puck which in turn led to the shot on goal and the rebound which Vegas scored on.
He missed it from a nearly impossible spot to even score from. He was forced to skate basically right into Skinner with zero lateral movement required because Nurse completely boxed out the pass and forced him to pass it way too late, while simultaneously taking away the shooting option. And to in anyway blame Nurse for Skinner dropping a low danger shot from the boards in front of him for Roy to tap in is absolute insanity.

Look Nurse flops on his belly way too much, but that's one of the few plays he actually executed it properly. You're out of your mind if you disagree. I watched it happen live sitting right in front of the Oilers net, and I've watched the replay multiple times. Nurse made an excellent play there.

I may be wrong but I'm sitting here half cut and know in my bones our journeyman back up wins us this one. Not replacing Skinner with a professional goalie at the trade deadline is a failure. Well, not replacing him at any point in the last 3 years is a failure. He isn't that guy and he never was that guy....Picks better get his ass back asap.
LOL only you and every other couch GM knew this. Not the Pejorative SlurS in charge of this team.

Can you believe there were actually people in the GDT standing up for Stuart? LMFAO.

How's that going for you??
As far as i Know, we have one mentally low reject who keeps sticking up for this piece of trash goalie. ??

Are there more than 1 person who is mentally inept?

How the F did Skinner choke? The Oilers turned it over AGAIN, and Draisatl deflected it in.

🙄
This fat fuk was on his ass on the first goal. Had no idea where the sharp angle shot was. Easy rebound lol

The fat fuk was in no mans land on the GWG goal

2nd goal, he didn't even make an effort. Why couldn't this guy had a leg injured tonight. Force him out of here

Knobloch didn’t learn from game 1 in LA. We just tied it riding McDavid and Draisaitl all period and he puts them out late in the game to try and win in regulation. Both games go to OT with either bottom 6 line out. Comedy of errors. Starts with the knob though. You tied it up late. Get it to OT.
Agree with this. Knoblauch missed the need to have fresh legs and frankly defensive minded players to finish out the clock. That final sequence was a comedy of errors by basically every Oiler on the ice. Complacency and poor decisions abound.

Stack Line skated backwards again most of this game. Draisaitl carried this team all season but this was likely his worst playoff game as an Oiler. Seemed slow skating, not moving enough with the blueline strip that went the other way for a goal, part of a disaster long ice change that led to a goal against, and hard back check on a very unfortunate end of game own goal. Arvidsson Podzolzen embarrassing blueline gaffe that led to a goal. Bad goaltending behind terrible team mistakes is a recipe for a L. Vegas has been very good in the neutral zone taking away speed and turning over pucks.

Have to reset and drive this series to 3-1 on Monday. Tough loss tonight on largely self-induced mistakes and a goaltender who can't make timely stops to clean up mistakes.
