Post-Game Talk: Literally shooting yourself in the foot

I'm staying off every other social media platform and radio talk show tonight so that I don't chuck my laptop through my front living room window. I already know the Edmonton Media is in full "everyone's fault but Skinner" mode tonight.
apparently Dubnyk is ripping him on oilersnation even though he was defending him earlier in the post season.

He was a main culprit on three GAs tonight. Stripped by Kolesar on the first. Poor puck management and a bad change on the third. And finally the mess of a final shift on the GWG. He was trying to do too much tonight and he was playing right into Vegas' defensive shell.

He played impatient tonight.
Or the goalie does his job once...

How do some of you idiots believe that any mistake absolves the goalie from doing his job

He moved his stick 3 inches from the blue line when Smith shot the puck. Call it a deflection, but it didn't just happen to hit his stick like the puck happened to hit McNabb's skate on McDavid's goal. If Draisaitl had done nothing, the game would have went to OT.

Like I said, Skinner is maybe a backup goalie. He cost the team the game in the grand scheme of things. But that last goal is on Draisaitl. If Pickard had made that play, people would be blaming Draisaitl. God help us if it were Nurse who deflected it.
If Skinner stayed in his net, game goes to OT. Draisaitl’s action is the preventative action trying to save a goal. His was a last ditch effort to save the team from Skinner’s f*** up.

Let’s break it down further. Was Draisaitl trying to score on his own net or was he trying to save a goal?

2nd part- why was the puck there? Why did Draisaitl need to try to save a goal?

3rd part- would Draisaitl need to perform that action if Skinner was in his net, playing his position?

After the first 2 games against LA
I thought we were done and maybe they would get rid of skinner in offseason
Then they put pickard in and goes 6-0 and was feeling upbeat about playoffs again only to get hurt and have to go back to skinner.
What a roller coaster ride
Wouldn’t expect it to be any other way with the oilers.
We went 6-0 with an average goalie imagine if we had an actual number 1 goalie

“NOT MY FAULT”

Thought he gave the team a chance to win!?!?!?

f*** you and your California Closets and your f***ing hipster hat and your f***ing moustache and your f***ing giant f***ing watch and your f***ing Pizza 74 which I don’t have to f***ing eat now because you lost so I won the easiest bet in the f***ing history of the planet….

I never planned on buying shit at California Closets but I’m for sure not buying anything there ever

Pizza 73 and their shit pizza can go f*** themselves too

Oh yeah? Tell me how the final goal was all Skinner's fault?
I happen to think he sucks and was a complete goof on the first goal but please tell me how I'm blind for seeing that the final goal was a total team failure?
If Skinner is even playing goal on that play it head to OT. Reilly WANTED to get Swimmer swimming out. It was the only hope of that play leading to anything.

Even in Skinners thought process which he goes through in post game is "I tried to stay with the guy for an extra second and somehow he got it by me"

Meaning Skinner actually intended to go swimming out of his net on a nothing play instead of you know, just being a goalie. He's confirming himself as the village idiot in the postgame. He would do the same thing again. Its hyper unreal.

And if they win, guess who'll be celebrating first? #ToxicAttirude

I said the same thing after game 2 last round, that we're coming back, and took alot heat, again, from the same posters that post immediately after a win. Here we are round 2. Now, after one loss, its all doom and gloom again

Terrible attributes as a sports fan. See ya'll in round 3, where you'll have amnesia about doubting this team after one loss following a 6 game winning streak, and celebrate when we win, and lambast when we lose. What a shame

Lets go Oilers, game 4, Stu will come through

If Skinner stays in his net, Smith has an uncontested shot from 10 feet out with 2 seconds left in the game. You see this, right?

That goal is a series altering play.
If we lose this series you can point to that moment as one that changed everything.

This team is like a zombie though, never f***ing dies. Imo they're probably the hardest out in sports. You can put 6 bullets in their chest and they'll bounce right back up.

If Pickard is back, I think we can move past this.

That right there. Pickard doesn’t make that play. That’s the difference

Another player who was total dogshit tonight was Nurse. Like wake the f*** up man. Quit trying to do everyone else’s f***ing job and just focus on your f***ing job.

Team goes into full chaos mode when they have no idea what Fat Stu is going to do behind them. Funny enough they looked excellent defensively until Stu gave up that horrendous 1st goal.

This take basically doesn't understand hockey. See Drai there at net trying to prevent a last second goal. its where Skinner is supposed to be, you know, a goalie, in his crease. The only reason Drai is at net there is because his goalie completely Abrogated his responsibilities

This is on Skinner.

I’m not at all saying we will lose the series. But IF we do this is the moment the series flipped.
