Post-Game Talk: Literally shooting yourself in the foot

Oh yeah? Tell me how the final goal was all Skinner's fault?
I happen to think he sucks and was a complete goof on the first goal but please tell me how I'm blind for seeing that the final goal was a total team failure?
It was a team failure.

Kulak needs to pin the puck and Karlsson to the boards.

Nurse goes to his belly like clockwork.

But then, out of 5 trillion options that stupid f*** named Skinner decides to go for a walk out into the corner!?! That’s inexcusable, full stop the biggest mistake.

Draisaitl is covering for his dumbass goalie at this point, and puts it in.

Guy, he wasn’t even in the net… wtf are you talking about? He was in the corner when Smith shot the puck. If he would have been in control and not completely panic, we’d be heading to OT.

Pickard: 6-0
Skinner: 0-3

What’s the common denominator here? Open your eyes, and quit defending him. It’s a bad look and makes you seem like you have no idea what you’re talking about.

You look stupid.

This is much more on Draisaitl than on Skinner. Shitty way to lose.
This is on the entire team. Shitty way to lose, but we were very lucky to even be tied at that point in the game. We were the second best team on the ice, and they have to get their shit together and manage the puck better.

They f***ing failed their defensive assigments once again, on the 1st and 2nd LV goals... and also once again, Skinner could not, did not, come up with crucial saves that Pickard has most definitely been making. They then started turtling and going into a shell defensively, precisely because of these two reasons.

And Draisaitl was DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE on both the 3rd and 4th goals. He and his two wingers decided to change when the puck was in our half of the ice in the neutral, when the bench is closer to their blue line, and they are gassed and couldn't have made it back in time anyways. They even dogged it back to the bench. I don't care how tired you are, stay out and defend. It doesn't take a hockey savant to instantly recognize the danger, just stay on the f***ing ice and defend. And the 4th goal was going wide and he decides to tip it in. f***ing awful game from him. I think this is the ONE time I might let that douchebag Spector get a pass and ask a one of his asshole questions of Draisaitl... like asking him WTF he was thinking on both of those goals. God awful showing by Draisaitl.

Pickard can't come back quickly enough, I sure as hell hope it's day to day and not a serious long term thing because this team's psyche is incredibly fragile playing in front of Skinner. They walk on eggshells, they don't defend well in front of him, and he does not save these defensively inept morons from themselves with timely saves.
Draisaitl was also directly responsible for one of the first goals with a braindead giveaway.

Something else I noticed. Why was Knob line matching McDavid against Eichel the entire night? Eichel was eating Connor alive in Vegas and I was expecting us to try to get away from that matchup.

Except the Knights also have breakdowns but it doesn't look like whatever Skinner was doing tonight.

First of all, cool it with the "you look stupid" shit. the way you're acting is a bad look,
Second, I didn't say Skinner wasn't at fault, I'm saying it was a total team failure, including Skinner, on the goal.

Anybody tries to bat that puck away. As a player in that situation there is no way to know that puck is not going in. Karlson is also right there and so Drai figured in real time, in a split second instant, to do what he did. Shitty situation to be in and kind of telling as well Swimmer, I mean Skinner is out of his cage losing his mind with one second left, the D are somewhere, and Drai has the misfortune of coming back to what would otherwise be a game saver but the puck tips in off his stick.

Hockey can be a cruel game of bounces but it was for Vegas too on the own goal tying goal. The Oilers never deserved this game. Its the usual habit they played badly in game 2 but won so start figuring they can bring nothing through 3 periods and eke out a W.

Every period of this game every line allowed Vegas to be in this game. Certainly weak Skinner allowed Vegas to stay in this game.
