Linus Ullmark First NHL Goal

Hextall did it twice, my dude. Even if both of his were five billion times better than Ullmark's, Ullmark's could still be the third best and thus comfortably one of the best.

Also, this was, imo, better than either of Hextall's, as it was dead centre, he had less time to shoot than Hextall did either time, and it was a one-goal game. Hextall will always have been the trailblazer, though.
Hextall did it twice with a heavy wood Vic goalie stick! Ullmark did it with a Bauer composite goalie stick that is super light and has some whip(flex) to the stick.

Hell yeah! Love to see it.

Goalie goals are always that kind of moment you have to stop and tip your hat given how rare it is. Kudos to Ullmark. Fleury will be crying tonight.

(context: Fleury tried repeatedly to get a goal while he was with Vegas. Can't speak for how often he tried in Pittsburgh or Minny but it was/is definitely something he wants to achieve before retirement)

He tried enough that I expected you to say Pittsburgh instead of Vegas. Really want to see him get one.

Cinderella season for Linux Ulmark this year. Just hope he’s not peaking too soon.
He getting rewarded for working hard and getting away from that cursed Sabres team he played for. Miller stunk as a playoff goalie and the fact he stuck with teams that didn't make the playoffs much. Hasek won his Cup with the Wings, so now Ullmark has his chance to do the same with the Bruins.

I remember when the Bs signed Ullmark a bunch of Buffalo fans said he'd be great behind this group. Last year he was adjusting and playing under Cassidy. This year he just looks so F'n relaxed. Even absurd saves look relatively routine for him. Those wild ones are generally quick glove stuff, not cross the crease/out of position moves. There's nothing about his play that I would say reeks of 'hot goalie'. He just seems to constantly be in the right place.

That goal also shows the confidence he's playing with. Best goat lending experience I've seen in a while, never mind his goaltending.

Great empty net goal by Ullmark. At the same time, some of you talk like you were just born yesterday. Go look up Hextall's 2 goals scored on YouTube! Hextall used a heavy pure wood stick and from behind the goal line against my Caps in the playoffs!
I mean, there’s a good chance a lot have been born after that….

So… like… sweet?

Good lord Ronnie, just stop.

While I am sure the intent was to diminish, there is something to be said about that though.

While good for Linus, it is a fun feat and impressive nonetheless, back in the day it woulda been much harder.

He is a poster boy for modern goaltender play. From his minimizing extra movement to his depth control, to obviously making a big jump in his shooting and passing from last year. He has way more fight(wearing on his sleeve), than Rask ever showed.
To everyone saying he'll peak too soon, it's called Swayman. No need to overuse him, and seemingly has one of his best hockey friends pushing him.

I love how he shot that with a heavy forecheck coming down on him. That has to be a huge JENGA piece out of what's left of the Canucks' self confidence.

Great goal, got some practice at the All Star game!

How do the Bruins always luck out with goalies? (Thomas, Calder Raycroft-turned into Rask, then Ullmark)
