Lines when the Isles are FINALLY healthy.

Bailey - JT - Okposo
Grabovski - Nielsen - Kulemin
Lee - Nelson - Strome
Grabner - Cizikas - Clutterbuck

That is down right scary. I actually wouldn't mind the 4th line being out so much in this scenario.

That 4th line would be decent if Cizikas stops playing like *****

So bye bye Conacher, Martin scratched, Grabner fourth line?

Also, glad to see that 1st PP unit reunited.

It is also possible we waive Strait or Donovan if everyone is healthy. That would leave us with 2 healthy offensive scratches (Conacher and Martin, assuming Boulton's "tweak" will last all year until we need another healthy body) and one defensive scratch (Donovan or Strait). 14F, 7D and 2G.. we gave been carrying 8D when healthy, not sure that is necessary.

I'll give it a try:

Grabner - Tavares - Okposo
Kulemin - Nielsen - Grabovski
Lee - Strome - Nelson
Martin - Bailey - Clutterbuck

Yeah, people are going to complain about Bailey on the fourth line and he has shown chemistry on the first line, but so did Grabner and I think he's more likely to fire the puck which is what we need on that line. Will open up space for Okposo considering that both JT and Bailey are playmakers so teams just have to worry about the shooters. Anyway, our roster is pretty solid and I won't be too upset with whatever the coaches decide, but that's what I would do.

12-91-21
18-29-27
86-51-84
40-[17/53]-15

(Rotate Martin & Cizikas in and out depending on matchup and if there is an injury both play)

3-44
2-55
11-14

Ummm.... sorry, but when? Last I remember he and JT did not play well together...

If we are going to have strome as the #3C, I'd rather have Nelson on the top line and Grabs on the 3rd line. Lets not **** around, we know (or at least think) that Nelson jives well with JT and KO. It wasn't a huge sample size, but they looked real good last year. Lets get that first line cranking again. And there's nothing with a 3rd line of Lee/Strome/Grabs. Lee's board work and Grabs speed could give Strome some room.

I'm fine with Bailey on the 4th line if that's what they think is best. And if Martin sits, a line of Bailey/Cizikas/Clutter is pretty decent as well.

Since Capuano seems bound and determined to not line match, this is what I'd like to see:

Kulemin - JT - Okposo
Grabovksi - Nelson - Grabner
Lee - Nielsen - Strome
Cizikas/Martin - Bailey - Clutterbuck

Gives each line a good blend of size, speed, skill and 2way play. Every line can score, and none of them should be a liability.

I like it, but I want Strome at center somehow.

Yeah, I'm fine with that. I just like the way that lines been playing and don't really want to break it up. If it means Nelson at center instead of Strome that's fine also.

With Grabner's imminent return and Capuano hinting at lineup changes against the Rags, who sits among the forwards? Does he keep it status quo? I don't see how you send McDonald down at this point at least until he cools off.

Nelson's looking like he's regaining form so I wouldn't touch him. I think Grabovski may need to sit if anyone.

Also(I'll throw him a bone here) , I love the way Capuano is using Grabner to light a fire under these guys. ...Coaching 101.

I wouldn't change the offense. We're better when Grabner sits. Just change CdH with Strait and we're good to go for now.

i agree. the only way i put Grabs in is if another forward is nursing an injury, and needs a maintenance day or two. McDonald is playing hard and producing, so i see no need to send him down.

Just trade Grabs for a pick. He is not worth that freaking contract.

This is the lines that should be up when everyone is healthy -

Anders Lee - John Tavares - Josh Bailey
Brock Nelson - Frans Nielsen - Kyle Okposo
Nikolay Kulemin - Mikhail Grabovski - Ryan Strome
Matt Martin - Casey Cizikas - Cal Clutterbuck

HS: Colin McDonald

However, coach is a derp and we will never ever see a perfect lineup drawn up to perfection such as this one.

On the other hand, our pk is garbage and Grabs has been our best penalty killer in recent years. Maybe getting him back there could help. I'm sure he's a bit rusty having not played much this year, but getting him back into game shape over the next couple of months could be huge as this team heads into the playoffs.

If Grabs is healthy, I would probably put him on the 4th line over McDonald and give him a ton of pk time, although probably not before tonight's game.

Our PK is not a personnel issue, it's a systems issue. Grabner, in his current form, is not better on the PK than most of our PKers. I wouldn't start him over CMac right now, since CMac is hungry, isn't coming back from an injury, fits with Martin and Cizikas, and it allows Clutterbuck to move up a line...where he's better than Grabner. If we hit another lull, I'd put Grabner back in. Can't afford to give guys games to get in game shape against divisional opponents we're trying to gain points on.
