Flames fans must be feeling a shade of positivity because here comes Negative Nancy. Hope you get outside and enjoy the nice weather and sunshine.LOL no they didn't.
It is always crazy to see the silly overeactions to deals like this. They got two maybe prospects that are more likely never to play in the NHL than be key players. Nothing wrong with that but far from crazy good prospects.
And Kuzmenkp sucks, so LOL to the guy comparing his fluke season last year to the consistency of Lindholm. It was a fair deal filling the needs for both sides, neither team ripped off the other, neither got fleeced.
Yuck don't like those comments unless it is because they want to artificially pump up his value but I doubt GMs will fall for that. Pretty clear GMs see that Kuzmenko is a dud and why he had no value in a deal.
My concern is this management think they can go with Hubredeau-Sharangovich-Kuzmenko and Zary-Kadri-Popsil and compete for the 8th spot in the play-offs now and going forward. That is a terrible group of forwards.
Some 4D chess could come. Hanifin to Detroit, which puts the pressure on the Leafs to give up their 1st for Tanev. With Tanev's name popping up during the wait for the trade announcement today, we might not need to wait long, I think.
From what it sounds like was Bruz was not interested in signing in Vancouver. I think having an American GM in Conroy hes really been an asset in helping us sign these American prospect. If you are curious about an opinion on Hunter, I made some posts in this thread with video examples. He is a good prospect, and I am very bummed the Canucks gave up on him. Don't let the points fool you. He isn't an offense-only defenseman. He's well-rounded and plays a major role for the team, both defensively and offensively.

The problem with the Forsling deal was much less the trading of Forsling and more the terrible pro scouting on the guy they traded him for. I mean sure, but I take iasue with a team with no prospects and terrible amateur scouting trading their hits out of impatience. Especially when you...forums.hfboards.com
I post my thoughts on him here. I'm not a scout or anything. These are just my initial viewings.
Who cares. It’s in Toronto and I had no interest in watching it anyway. Lol.So we won’t have anyone representing us at the ASG now
Something else that came up the other day suddenly interests us a bit more.
He was on Calgary radio. But also Conroy talked to his agent to gauge whether he’d be interested in signing in Calgary and his side was positive about his opportunities in Calgary over Vancouver. Obviously with Hughes, Honek, and Willander he was not going to have much opportunity. In Calgary he’s our top RH D prospectSomeone said that Friedman said that Brz wouldnt sign with Vancouver but I can’t find where it came from
Hunter is a great prospect, don't let other Canuck fans gaslight you into thinking otherwise. There is a contingent of fans who think the guy skates in mud, but that is simply not true.He was on Calgary radio. The 6-foot, 190-pound right-shot defenceman’s athleticism began to shine through as well. He finished second in overall testing at the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game’s combine after finishing in the top five among the 40 skaters in four different tests (first in backward skating with puck, third in weave agility, third in transition agility, and fourth in forward skate with puck). He performed exceedingly well at the NHL Scouting Combine in Buffalo in June, too, finishing in the top 10 in testing in the VO2 Max (seventh), pro agility (ninth), anaerobic peak output (second) and anaerobic mean output (fourth).
lol completely

Oh no doubt. Doesn’t sound like they’re flipping him thoughIf this was in the cards, I would hope that the Flames would have discussed it with Kuzmenko prior to the trade. How bad would it look if Kuzmenko talked about being excited to join the team and then they come to him and ask about his list?
Have you ever said anything positive about the flames, their players, or management in your almost 1k posts? Cause I don’t think I can remember one.Saying we didn’t fleece the Canucks is negative???
Other than “likes to score goals” none of those players share a stylistic resemblance or profile to any of the others honestly and it’s a pretty poor comparison. Considering the general complaints of our fan base, having more forwards with a penchant for scoring goals who do so in a multitude of different ways is a boon and not a negative.Mangiapane, Coronato, Kuzmenko, and Sharangovich. That’s 4 guys who all occupy a similar niche.
It will be difficult to get the most out of them considering our centre depth isn’t the best and our PP is no bueno. Need to think about moving one or two of those guys (not Coronato obvs) out maybe at the deadline to a playoff team who wants to boost their special teams
I don't know if Kuzmenko is a long-term fit in Calgary but a little scouting report either way:
Kuzmenko definitely has the natural talent and skill required to be a legit top-6 NHLer. Good vision, great hands, can simply make a play around the net.
Last season he was featured in front of the net on the PP and he feasted there, but this year Boeser has kind of taken that role which has led to Kuzmenko pretty much standing in the corner while Miller, Pettersson and Hughes throw the puck around.
What got him into trouble with the coaching staff this year is his decision-making with the puck (lots of turnovers, especially in dangerous areas) and play away from the puck (just not someone who digs in defensively).
Last season he was able to produce good offense without being a liability. This season he simply hasn't been able to outproduce his weaknesses. I find it difficult to predict what his NHL career looks like going forward.
Off the ice, seems to have a very happy-go-lucky attitude. He became a fan favorite pretty quickly in Vancouver.
Odds are, they'll still have Lindholm represent the Flames (like that situation with John Scott representing Montreal after being traded to Arizona and being demoted to the AHL)Does this mean Calgary won't have an All Star at the big game? Or do we get to pick someone else and do it right this time... < cough cough... Coleman.. >
I mean between Hughes and Hronek, as well as Willander and Elias Petterson as prospects (Yes, they also have a D prospect named Elias Petterson), there is a very real chance that Brzustewickz wouldn't make the team outside of a third pairing and *maybe* second PP role. If a real chance at making the team was the reason he didn't want to sign, Calgary is very different on D then we were even 3 years ago. We have Andersson and Weegar for any length of time, with Kylington being the only young guy who has a semi-secured spot on the roster who might get re-signed. There is a real chance that he can make the team within 2 years, and get a top 4 role with decent PP time.He mentioned it on the fan, says he doesnt believe that extends to Calgary but cant confirm. I wonder if the reason was with Hughes and Co in Vancouver that he didnt see a chance of making the team anytime soon.
