Lindy Ruff named Head Coach, Press Conference at 1:00 PM EDT

None of the retreads thrill me. In my wildest dreams, grabbing the next Spencer Carberry would.
A guy who intrigues me is Washington Assistant, Mitch Love.
- 40 years of age
- Is from BC and played junior in the WHL.
- He was a pest and fighter in the WHL, with 40 fights in the 02-03 season alone. His wiki-bio states he is the only player in Everett Silver Tips history to have his jersey retired.
- 6 years bouncing around the minors as a player
- 6 years as an assistant with Everett in the WHL
- 3 years as a HC with the Saskatoon Blades in the WHL. This was over the covid years. The Blades had a .664 points % in his 3 years as HC
- 2 years as HC of Calgary's AHL team. They had a .725 points % over those two years. Was AHL coach of the year in both seasons
- In his 2nd year as an assistant with Washington

But he has so much head coaching experience. I would look at Todd Nelson and David Carle.

Nice find. Looks like the resume of a guy who could soon get a shot at NHL HC. Fairly similar to Carberry's.

A relatively young guy with fresh ideas, but who's been through the hockey trenches as a player and coach is my idea of a perfect fit for an underachieving, too-young team that far too often looks like the Keystone Kops on ice.
