I have to say the Sabres org has completely banished me into dismay. I'm very pleased to see that they were paying attention to all this mess, and took the chance on getting rid of dead weight.

It feels so strange and different, but this needed to be done. Pegula proved he has the balls to run this team to the end. Now things can start to build from here.

What an era of Buffalo Sports, I met Lindy and his family at a bowling alley in the late 90s when I was in high school. I was a young hockey player wearing my travel jacket and he spent 15 minutes talking to me about hockey and my game, I never forgot it. Can't believe he has lasted this long and it has come to an end like this, I thought he would leave on his own terms. I wonder how many coaching changes have been made during his era, and if he is going to continue to work with the club in the front office.

I gotta say I'm a Lindy Ruff fan from way back when he was a Sabre. He always had time for the fans and is a real stand-up guy. Then he becomes coach & goes right to the Finals, and I'm sure we're going to win a Cup with him.

I'm sorry it didn't work out with this organization, but hopefully he goes on and succeeds elsewhere (I mean, look at Boudreau).

This says Pegula to me. I don't think he gave Regier an ultimatum, but I think they had a long discussion and Pegula made it clear what's going on it unacceptable.
