What is the NHLPA getting in return from the owners?NMC’s and NTC’s have gotten out of hand, would it make sense to limit NMC/NTC per team?
Each team can have 2 NMC and 2 NTC, I think this would help a lot of teams.
What is your guy’s opinion on this?
What is the NHLPA getting in return from the owners?
The security of being able to choose where they work and raise a family.Good question, never thought about this. What do the NHLPA want?
Exactly. As usual people are choosing to blame anyone but the teams themselves for what is essentially a problem of poor management. Why have they gotten “out of hand”? What’s the issue? What would limiting NMC/NTCs fix?
GMs shouldn’t hand them out so much if there’s some sort of problem.

Who is blaming the players?People on hfboards sure are anti-worker
What does that have to do with anything? You think that means they don’t want the same things for their families that any average Joe does? People here are so out of touch. This is not your 9-5 job, this a job where they are paid millions of dollars.

Some people are always desperate to white knight for the principle of being a bootlicker.People on hfboards sure are anti-worker
The issue is that whenever a player with a NTC is going to be moved they always put the same small number of teams on their list. The limited options handcuff the trading team and the acquiring team is able to get the player for less. It is possible there is a danger of the league becoming essentially a two-tiered league with the big boys and the teams that are essentially farm teams. If a player is just the slightest bit unhappy he could force his way onto one of the big teams, the team he came from then gets a poor return making it more unlikely they are able to rebuild, making it more likely that other players force their way onto the big teams, the cycle repeats. A bunch of markets lose interest because they are perennially mediocre at best. Why have they gotten “out of hand”? What’s the issue? What would limiting NMC/NTCs fix?
