Looks like Disney is continuing their series of live action versions of their animated movies

I'm okay with this one, and I'm sure my kids will love it.
Snow White on the other hand....yikes
I'm not part of the anti-DEI crowd by any stretch but Rachel Zegler's comments about the movie were so insufferable and condescending, I have zero interest in consuming anything related to that movie. Anything I've seen about it has been entirely incidental, like flipping through IG reels.

Was the original even enough of a classic for this remake?
Wikipedia:

The combined critical and commercial success of the original film, which was a rarity for the company's feature animation studio during the studio's post-Renaissance downturn in the early 2000s, led to three direct-to-video and television sequel feature films, a short film, three animated television series, several video games, theme park attractions, comics, literature, and various merchandise.

The Snow White remake was a gigantic flop so hopefully this is the last remake. Disney is rumored to have had enough of this. None of them have been good. Cinderella, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast even with my idol Ariana Grande, The Lion King, et al. All garbage

Hopefully this fad dies down.

This ain't good - the CGI model they rendered for Stitch is making inflammatory comments about the appropriation of alien/koala hybrid culture from the original film. Say goodbye to any box office success for this one

Little Mermaid made profit and The Beauty & The Beast was well received by critics and earned 1.2 billion at the box office. Lion Kind also a made 1.6 billion dollars.

I’ll go out on a limb and say it was the best traditional-animated Disney movie since The Lion King. Meaning I thought it was better than Pocahontas, Emperor’s New Groove, Hercules, Princess and the Frog, Hunchback, Mulan, Tarzan, Treasure Planet, and whatever else I may be forgetting.

And anecdotally, based on what I see at the Disney Store, Disneyland, etc it seems to have stood up pretty well compared to those movies. The only other post-Lion King movie to get this live-action treatment was Mulan.
