In both cases, neither were as bad as perceived with the piling on group. Perceived issues in their games get over magnified watching for mistakes and missing the high quality work otherwise.

As an Oiler fan I hate to see great players run out of town by fanbases. Seen it for decades starting with guys like Jason Arnott. So yeah I'll defend great players vehemently when critiques are not warranted.
