I do not think so. Tappara has avg.attendance at 64,7% capacity while Ilves is even worse (61%).What? Teams from Tampere are doing great.

Ilves fanclub celebrated their first 20 years
That is still plenty of money in finland. Capacity doesn't matter but paying people doI do not think so. Tappara has avg.attendance at 64,7% capacity while Ilves is even worse (61%).
It is very sad what you wrote.Osasto 41 isn't 20 years and Osasto is not a fanclub

I bet if there was only one team in Tampere, they would be close to selling out every gameWhat? Teams from Tampere are doing great.
Sad? Finland doesn't have millions of people in cities so i think per capita wise we are doing very good. I can everyday see people wearing Ilves merch and the two clubs from Tampere are doing financially better than ever before. It is very sad what you wrote.

I would expect the new great arena will attract fans. Seems it does not work here. It is not only about Tampere. And TPS is a mystery case.
Liiga is the worst in all attendance aspects from leading leagues.
If comparing the average arenas capacity of SHL/TELH vs Liiga, we see the Swedish/Czech leagues are just +500 comparing to Finland. But the real attendance is much much worse in Finland. Also the lowest population is in Finland. What a shock that when there is like 5 million more people in Sweden and Czechia.

I just have to say, that the culture in sports isn´t so passionate in Finland, Tampere and both of it´s teams are doing fine with attendance, believe me, if they get 8000+ attendance in regular season games everyone can be thankful. If comparing the average arenas capacity of SHL/TELH vs Liiga, we see the Swedish/Czech leagues are just +500 comparing to Finland. And Liiga game attendance with around 2000-3000 fans is realy realy bad signal.
Merge the leagues and reduce the total number of teams is the answer.I just have to say, that the culture in sports isn´t so passionate in Finland, Tampere and both of it´s teams are doing fine with attendance, believe me, if they get 8000+ attendance in regular season games everyone can be thankful.
500,000 people live Tampere and it´s closest neighboring municipalities, so you can´t expect a lot more than that.
Finnish people are also poor, we pay a lot of taxes, and now when the inflation is very high, we just can´t afford going to every game.
In Sweden very small cities have better attendance, because it´s a matter of honor there to be a fan to your own team and go to watch them play, Swedish society also thinks, that people must spend more money, they get more usable money per month comparing to Finnish people.
I´m also on the same side with you, only three teams, Ilves, Tappara and HIFK can be pleased to their attendance, others just need to have more, no explanations.
The argument that Sweden has more population is not valid, because if you look to the cities where Swedish teams play, so many are in very small towns, and they have sold out many games in the regular season..
Yes, i know, old conversation but i needed to answer. I´m worried about attendances in Finland.
I totally agree, we´ll have one more team for the next season, so 16 teams in the main league of the country... too much, because we can´t compete with salaries against other leagues in Europe this decision will reduce Liiga´s level a lot.Merge the leagues and reduce the total number of teams is the answer.

At least they are able to sell out their games which is a rarity for Liiga. League had only 4,4% of sold-outs in regular season. For example Czech TELH had 7,9% and other top leagues had from 15% to 25%.Vaasan Sport: 10 seasons in Liiga, 0 won playoff games.
Any other HFer pumped for the upcoming Liiga finals? As a lifetime Pelicans fan, two straight final appearances is not something I pictured as a kid but damn I'm so hungry for redemption against Tappara!
Tappara up 2-0.. close games
