As others have said in the gdts, we need a spark plug to help wit these slow starts. Gage wasn’t a liability on the ice imo but if he can’t contribute offensively yet, then he’s not helping us much at the moment.

Does Goncalves play any center? Devils could use someone to play 3C since Dowling is better suited on a low event fourth line and Haula’s scoring has dried up this year.

He seems like an intriguing claim opportunity given his AHL production and age, if he could play 3C.

I don’t know how much C he played in the AHL but none with Tampa. Can’t remember many face offs he’s taken. I would not be comfortable with him as a 3C for a playoff contender. I mean the Lightning just waived him and it’s not like our bottom six is loaded

Noted. My logic was it would be a 1-2 month trial run until the deadline. Devils organizational center depth is barren so it could’ve made sense and maybe they would try to sneak him down to the AHL and hope Tampa wouldn’t reclaim even if he didn’t pan out.

But it’s a moot point if he’s not a center.
