He's constantly injured so its hard to tell but when he gets first line minutes he usually around a ppg.

Could be a little of both. He has 6 points in 10 games since returning December 18th. Last season around this time he was on a tear. 29 points in his last 38 games. (11 points in 10 games in January, 7 points in 10 games in February, 7 points in 11 games in March, 4 points in 7 games in April)

So he's been consistently producing when healthy, heath is just the main concern. Bolts haven't seen him in a preseason game in 2024, 2023, and he only played in one in 2022. He was limited in those training camps too. So the staff hasn't really seen him play/practice against NHL players that much.

Duke and Huuhtanen are injured, so this might be the perfect time to get him in some NHL games both to evaluate him, and see where he's at against this level of competition. If he plays well and ends up sticking around, even better.

I think this is the case. But I also think he did enough to earn a call up for the road trip next week.
