So when did Tampa jump on the "Ship our drunken asshat fans to PNC" bandwagon? Last night after the game I was on the concourse waiting for the wife and a pack of about 4-5 Tampa Bay frat bro types came through shouting that there was a 50% off sale at The Eye because the Hurricanes lost by 50%, alleging the Staals were actually lovers rather than brothers...seriously I had to double check that they were Lightning fans and not Buffalo fans. They even pushed a little old lady out of their way (sorry, no police report). Two PNC Arena event staff were standing by and did...nothing. I guess they got their rocks off last weekend screwing people around in the autograph lines and feel like they've done their jobs for the season.

He sounded like a soft version of Christopher Walken in Joe Dirt. It started really rough, got better, but was painful to listen to.

I hate complaining about refs, but after that these guys are ****ing awful

I rarely ever complain about NHL refs, but that was a pretty terribly called game. Sure, a "playoff" team should be able to overcome it, but a PP or two extra could have been an equalizer.

I don't know BB....1st goal was tipped twice. Sure there was J.T. Brown in the crease but I didn't see that as a defensive breakdown at all. 2nd goal, I'll give you that Callahan was way too alone, but he also had been pushed wide, bad angle, terrible softie given up by Cam. 3rd goal, Stamkos left alone, total defensive breakdown while guys got "puck focused" and lost their guy.

Stamkos wasn't left alone. He literally just came off the bench and as soon as he crossed the blueline, the puck was passed right to him. That was great coach management, leaving him off the ice, only to throw him on during a sneak change. But still, the guys in red need to know what is going on at all times and know that a change was being made.

Calling a ****** game is excusable as long as it is called equally ****** for both sides. I guess when you're terrible, it's hard to be consistently terrible as well.

You've got me, but I always notice at least one person in attendance at every game wearing an NHL jersey of some third team that's neither the Hurricanes nor their opponent. At the Canes-Penguins game a couple weeks ago, it was two people in Flyers jerseys. At the Canes-Islanders game, it was somebody in a Jets (2.0) jersey. The other day against Tampa Bay, it was a random Penguins jersey.

TBH I can understand how that happens. If someone's a big Jets fan and ends up in Raleigh for the weekend, it makes sense that they'd want to see an NHL game wearing their own team's jersey.

Do you bring your Hurricanes jersey everywhere you travel? Unless you're doing a "see as many arenas as possible" road trip, that seems odd to me. Not that I give a **** what anyone wheres to a hockey game.

If I were planning a trip to Phoenix to watch Coyotes/Ducks, yeah I'd think about packing my Canes jersey.

I mean why not? Maybe somebody in the beer line asks about it and we strike up a conversation and they're really hospitable and it becomes a great memory. Maybe someone else from Raleigh spots me and I make a new connection in the area.

What's the downside? A stranger in a hockey forum complains about it?

Jets are a little bit odd but we all know the presence of northerners living in the area. Don't see why they would hide their team at a game.

I've been to plenty of games wearing a neutral jersey. One of the benefits of not having an NHL team in town to root for. And of course everyone of the dozens of AHL games I've been to. Some people just like going to hockey games, whether their team is involved or not.

I've done it. Wore Canes gear to Sharks and Kings playoff games when I was spending lots of time on the West Coast for work. People are like "I think that's weird" and I'm like "yeah I don't give a **** what you think."
